Review of Quaglinos

It still has it
Back in the early nineties, Quaglinos was one of the "it" restaurants. Impressive decor, bonkers staircase in the middle. Lots of money and oysters washed down with Champagne.
I hadn't been back for years until this week. And although it has mellowed out somewhat from the crazy yuppie years, the service, food and drink are still fantastic. Relaxed bar area with a man on a piano and if you want to book a table for a private group you can - the table overlooks the main dining area. The tuna salad, sea bream and rhubarb crumble were an excellent threesome to have.
Wine list was enormous = happiness in a glass.

Review of The Well

Well above average!
This is one of the best spots in London to have dinner in summer with friends on a Friday evening. The menu changes regularly (v good fish) and is light and airy on the ground floor. Decent wine list too. They have a room downstairs that can be hired out - cosy for about 70 people - with a private bar and fishtanks!
