Top marks
This tiny, unassuming restaurant between Tuffnell Park and Archway stations is a true word of mouth success story.
One Chef (on full view) One waiter (working his arse off) Wonderfully fresh ingredients (all on display in the open kitchen)
Its a unique place and well worth a visit. I would book a few days in advance though, especially at weekends

Massive
As Joel S says in another review, getting a table at lunchtime can be really difficult, but don't let this put you off.
Let's not beat around the bush here.....the sandwiches are HUGE!!!! Generously filled and lovely 'doorstop' bread.
I'm not a big fan of saltbeef but have it on good authority that it really hits the spot.
Well worth a visit. Oh, randomnly they seem to call everyone that comes in John or Dave.

A cut above
This Indian Restaurant in the heart of Kentish Town offers something a little different to your normal takeaway fare.
It has a 'restaurant feel' rather than a takeaway with a restaurant attached. The menu is more specialist too, with some really interesting things on the menu, including some beautiful highly spiced dishes.
It gets quite busy and I think really contributes to the continual rejuvination of the Kentish Town area

Review of The Pineapple

A great local
This is my local in every sense of the word - I wouldn't even need to take a brolly if it was raining, its that close.
After a couple of years in the wilderness The Pineapple has been given the makeover it deserves while losing none of its charm (and thankfully its eclectic mix of locals)
Its low key, laid back style and welcoming staff, including the lovely Simon, make it a near perfect destination.
I love the new Thai menu, it offers a real alternative to all of the other more traditional gastropubs in the area (which if I'm honest it could not really compete with)
They have just re-introduced the Sunday lunch too so I'll be giving that a try soon.
A great pub, and if you like that sort of thing you might even spot the odd celeb face!

Food Glorious Food!
This place is great. Never had a bad meal. Ever.
The menu is changed on a daily basis and booking is advisable (just a few days in advance). Having said that, if you just turn up you can usually order food and eat in the main pub rather than in the restaurant part.
A proper gastropub in every sense of the word. The portions are big, the menu is original and when you can't decide what to have....the steak is always excellent.
Stop reading this and book a table!!

Review of The Spice

Always Always Good
The Spice is pretty unassuming all in all but don't let appearances decieve you, the food is always.....always excellent.
You can eat in if you like (although I think it is more takeaway than restaurant) - the staff are uber-friendly and welcoming. I normally get it delivered and enjoy at home.
The food has never disappointed, I recommend the excellent Chicken Tikka Morissa if you enjoy the taste of really fresh chilli. The Tikka Bhuna is also delicious.
I can't shout about this place enough - try it. Don't just take my word for it. Thanks to good friends A&M for introducing me to this genuine local find.
