Expensive for me 
This business has now moved to the other side of the town, they took over the old peugeot site and rent from there. I have to say they were expensive and not helpful when we wanted to hire the 7 seater for wembley! They have some great cars to hire but they are expensive and not always the one you want!!

Not worth it
I dont see the point in the every day person wanting to go here as the deals are just not here anymore. Its ideal for the small business client because you can buy in bulk and thats where the saving happens! Its easy to get too but i think because i have to shop id rather have a reasonable experience while doing it!!

was opened to be the competitor to devonshire pine, oh dear, what a mistake that was guys!! They have a showroom that is cold, damp and full of tatt, to put it bluntly. The staff here are really not interested and the prices are really expensive when you see what they have to sell. Not good at all.

As above, this used to be a good value quality store to shop in but with all the pressures etc over the last few years they have gone down the pund shop route. Utter rubbish to be honest and the clientell you see in here is proper choice to be honest!! Avoid if you can!

This car park is great as long as you want to use it in the middle of the winter. In the summer this village is the gateway to the surf and where most of the beach goers go for their shopping, where can you park when you only have space for upto 30 cars!

Bit Marine like
what i would say a normal club of this century! We came here on a stag night a few mths ago, didnt stay long as the atmosphere in here can get tetchy with a lot of marines in here. Good music but the drinks were way out of most pockets! Ok but would suggest not great value!!

the above are really interesting as ive experienced both sides of the spectrum in here. I have to be honest and say that i have used the costcutter more because of the post office. The staff here are not great as they really dont seem to care!! I would only use this place evry so often!

Very much the poor relation in this little village, the pub serves up a good pint but it really could do with a pep up and clean! The service is really nice but can lack numbers in the week as most people tend to go into barnstaple!

Def not for me im afraid. Too many times there are so many idiots in here creating nonsense for the publice and it gets too much of a headache to even be in here! Its lovely when it rains ofcourse but even the stores in here arnt really what you would call exciting! The security guards need to remember what their jobs are too! Shake it up lads!!

Very much the secretarial agency in the city, the girls in here are very switched on but they do seem to have quite a staff churn here. They do come back to you when they say they will but the lack of experience lets them down a little!!

Used to be a very well run outfit with offices all over the south west but now the management seems to have got it all wrong! The office is shabby and they seem to have very young and not well versed staff in place now. They said they would come back to me within a week of seeing them but no call at all!!

I cant abide this store, there are two in the city and the other is going through a revamp, lets hope it gets more professional than this one! the staff are clueless and the stuff they try and sell you is really not upto the mark in my view! They always have a loda of Chav`s both boy and girl in here looking for cheap tat to buy! Not for me!!

Open most of the year. this is set just back off the seafront and can hold a lot of people. The 2p machines are very cool esp with my kids. The summer see`s this place packed with grockles and can get quite a meeting place for the chavs that visit seaton!!

Most def not the place to go if your over about 23. The place is heaving with drunk little kids who cant hold there drink plus the prices are really not good value! You can get a cheap drink before 10pm, the dancing is ok but the music is very trancy so not for me im afraid!!

the estate agency is born from fallout of the BOP agency throughout the north devon area! There are a few offices in north devon, mainly here and in torring ton! The office window seem jammed full of product but when you get to ask the staff it never seems to be available. The staff are experienced but dont seem bothered! Scruffy company, not my fav!!

This was one of the delights in bideford but sadly its beenm destroyed by the supermarket sweet purchaser!! the jars usede to be upto the ceiling and you could get so many sweets for £1. Sadly there are very few sweets as you remember from yrs ago here!

I have never been a fan of this jewellers, they tend to cater for the the more tacky part of the industry and the prices really dont reflect that! The displays are tacky and the staff really dont have the experience that you need to be able to sell jewellery propoerly! Its in the shopping centre so the only benefit is that you dont get wet when shopping

One of the cheaper shoe shops in the town and is ideal to get the novelty slippers you need to get the kiddies in your life for xmas! The shoes in here are pretty plastic and you can smell the plastic when you go in the shop rather than the lovely leather smell you get with better quality shops

a very weird place to have an amusement place right opposite the central railway station and not far from the harlequins shopping centre! Its not particularly nice to look at from the outside, the normal 2p machines spilling out onto the pavement and the sadoes in there wasting all there hard earned!!

One of two shops in the town but in my mind not the best im afraid! They are open for alot of the day and night but they never seem to have the sausages or fish cakes ready to buy so you will have to wait for your order which on a fri eve is not what you want is it!! The other one is up New st!!

one of the original large pools which means that its seen better days! The local authority like most are very skint so the pool so needs some attention and the changing rooms really are looking very tired! Ive used the pool a couple of times and have to say its nice to have a swim but not nice when it could be cleaner

Its nice to see the above but i have to say the opposite was there for me! The place looks drab from the outside and it took over 5 min of waiting in the shop to get anyone to even bother coming to chat to us! It left a very bad taste with me so i walked over the road to bairstow and dealt with Marco!! sorry

when working in st agnes your only 6 miles from truro so a visit to yoru local travel agent is a good visit, or at least i thought it would be, i walked in here on a tuesday morning, it was quiet and it still took over 10 min for a lady to show some interest in me and what i wanted, i did end up ordering a holiday from thompson in the end but online! Not a good shop to visit, sorry

prom dresses plus the wedding dress of your dreams, i have to say though there is a better wedding shop in barnstaple called the wedding collection. Sugar and spice is lovely but the lady here isnt upto speed for me! the dresses are nice but very samey, the prom dresses for me also are too expensive for that one night at college!

used to be a little chef, was closed for quite a while for the new owners to tkae over, on the link raod its handy for the grockles but it really is tucked away from the road to be honest! the carvery at the moment is ok but i have to say it doesnt look appetising from the outside!

I had an occasion to use this business many years ago and never wanted to use it again, it was full of very unsavoury characters who were desperate to cash their cheques no matter what the situation! When the new bridge was being built here in barnstaple all the labourers were having to use the shop to get their cash! Not open now

This is a pretty big bank but big doesnt always mean better! They refuse to open for a few hrs on saturday when the others seem to and the help once your in is limited to only a couple of ladies who always seem to be very busy! The queue in this branch does seem to be huge compared to other banks!

this is a 5 star hotel and in many ways it deserves that, but in others it definately doesnt! the valet/car care service was a real let down for me! im a car freek and the way they treated my car was worse than my 1 yr old daughter would have done for me! the car was dripping wet when i got it back and they didnt even bother doing the wheels! appalling service!!

because this place is outside the centre of town you have to make the effort to go here. As per the above review, they have an attitude that will put them out of business very soon. icalled themfrom work one week in feb because our printer had gone wrong, they wanted us to deliver the items we wanted printing to them and it would`nt be able to be done for 3 days! Im sorry but that doesnt sound like a company that wants to do business!

Small, grim and a bit of a dungeon! the old fashioned style newsagents that still caters for the old man with a shower mack on!! The papers,sweets etc are ok if you know what you need, you can get in and out pretty quick as its not always that busy! The hygeine in here is obviously not priority!!

A great place to find the magazine you need, from the top shelf to my sond footie mag!! They can order you what youd like but dont hold your breathe for it, the service can be a little slack at times! the shop display always seems like its just been thrown in there and looks particularly un inviting!

I AGREE. This phone shop is exactly as it was portrayed on the tv recently. The shop is very unwelcoming from the outside with big windows with supposed big deals to be had, they have some girlie staff trying to drag you in the shop and then if you do give in , the sharp suites are there waiting for you! It doesnt come across as genuine at all and if you do purchase make sure you check it all at least 4 times before leaving the store!!

I can understand the need for shops like Govers but there is very little in here i can stomach to wear! there is no fashion at all in here but then thats the whole point! Bad quality
A fantastic range of lingerie but i have to say the quality isnt great. Bought some lovely stuff as a prezzie at xmas, it fell apart after one wash. Its a very good price and it all looks fantastic but ni have to say there are places you can buy better in the town, sorry, not impressed!

Yes, this shop does smell nice when you go in and yes, i was convinced that this typ of remedy would work, but not for me! I have had eczema since being a boy and never really found a cure so i thought id try the chinnese cure. This store was recommended, its lovely in there and the staff are fantastic but i still believe its all a state of mind.

Lack of choice
There are better bike shops in the region than this one if im honest! the shop is ok but the stock choice is pretty poor! The staff are very helpful though but are hampered by the fact that the stock on display is a little small! With planet bike only 9 miles away and the ability to ride your bike outside the shop will make you want to go there!

Wrong hanger
Yes, topshop is topshop but there are some shops worst than others!This one seems stuck in the 90`s to be honest, i bought a pair of jeans from here but i really should have tried them on, they had the wrong hanger on them so hence the wrong size, not very good to be honest! Im not a fan of this shop to be honest!

Supposed to be a traditional irish pub but i have to say i was dissapointed. The place gets pretty rowdy in the busy eve`s and they dont have any irish music to speak of to listen too! Bouncers grace the pavements which i dont like so it wont be getting me back im afraid!

Small and pricey
This service station id smack in the middle of the town, its only got two pumps and i have to say has petrol at the dearest price ive seen in north devon! the station often runs out of diesel but at those prices its not going to affect me much! the forcourt is always clean, the shop does carry most things but again not the cheapest!

Honitons version of market carpets of exeter and exmouth. They have all your carpets, vinyl, rugs and most floor covering youd want! They do have some great fitters but i have to say the shop staff are not the best ive experienced! they dont really care whether you buy from them or not to be honest! I happened to want some carpet pretty NOW so i was a easy customer for them!!

How Pink??
These guys are a pretty big recovery outfit at pottington in barnstaple. I have to say after visiting there office a few times for work they dont install a huge amount of confidence with the state of the workshop and the office! They come across like a company of Pikey`s. All there vehicles are sprayed pink but the guys who work there come across like they have two heads! Not impressed at all! Sorry!

This is a little bridal shop which used to have a pretty good reputation. They have unfortuantely messed a few of my friends around so have lost a few big deals for dresses etc! they havnt been open the two times i last went to visit for my and Nik`s use! they do have lovely stock but the service i have to say leaves alot to be desired!

Im not that impressed with the bank for the occasional drink! I had to entertain a client and she sugested the bank, we had to wait for quite a while plus the cake/drink we got was pretty un eventfull! the decor leaves a lot to be desired and the clients tend to be more of the drop out quality!!

Lack of good choice for me
I know this is a national brand but i really dislike clinton cards esp this one in torquay. Im not a fan of all the soft toys and balloons they have all over the window, i thought they were a card shop? The prices are incredible and the choice is all a little fluffy for me. The shop is huge too so it takes ages to even get close to the card you need. Bought an anniversary card for my inlaws here in Feb but vowed i wouldnt spend my hard earned in here again. Not a nice experience for me.

Time warp
A smallish bhs here but it is a pretty old fashioned store. The trendy exeter store does run rings around it but then people here in torquay do tend to shop locally on the whole. The clothing dept is tucked away leaving the majority of the room for lighting and accessories etc! My only beaf with this bhs is that it seems to have been left in a time warp along with their staff! Not really for me!

Yes, they are cheaper than most electrical stores but generally there is a reason! Ive just bought some speakers from here and yes they`ve been fine but the hifi wa for my son so all it needed to do was play the base! My hifi speakers had to come via the technics specialist in exeter which i tend to prefer. The guys here do know bits of info but its so clear to me they are only interested in the sale at the end of it!

Very poor
we went to hawards citroen to see if we could buy a new c3 for nik last march, we got to the site frist thing on a sat morning, wanted to chat to a salesman re her part exchange, waited at least half an hour to be spoken to and then was kept waiting further. We got fed up and had to drive all the way to exeter to get some decent service! Bought a new c3 from them in the end!! Not impressed at all howards!!

Very poor
This may be set in a wonderful situation and we had a perfect seat outside right by the bridge, the food when it decided to arrive was outrageous! Yes, it was a sat eve but i was celebrating my 40th birthday and Nik was treating me to an eve out! The meal arrived around 45 min after ordering, my meal wasnt too bad but Nik`s caesar`s salad wassent back twice as the chicken was pink, the third time she eat the lettace and left the chicken, to top it all the bill was a disgrace. The building is fab but the kitchen let them down big time

Like the above review, im gutted this pub has now changed hands. The place has changed a little inside and has 3 floors, the middle and upper has loads of seats to sit on! The prices are very different to before and the choice of beers is nothing compared to the other big boys in town! Bouncers on the doorstep but not to stop you coming in as not as busy as it used to be

old fashioned for me
this was a clothes shop i always used to shop at when i was a kid. these days the designer clothing you can get is much easier to afford so burtons really isnt as good a value shop as it was! I find the clothes here very ordinary and ill fitting. I wear a suit to work and would always have recommended this shop for a suit but debenhams have got my vote now

this was my other halves bank, i can see why she changed from here. They dont stay open for long on a sat, the cashpoint is indoors and there is very little room for people in there! Its also right on the corner of two streets so can get very congested right at the entrance!

A Mess
whenever we go into poundland here there always seems to be the dregs of the town in here with us! I only wish they could make sure the air conditioning was turned up. The shelves always seem to be empty and the stock that is on the shelves is largely rubbish. The only things i like to get here are little things like sellotape, batteries and some sweets!!

This gym is for the beef cakes amongst us!! or meat heads if you prefer! You will have to be pretty muscely before you go here as you will feel pretty inferior. The membership is cheap but you are left alone once you join as your expected to know what your upto!

Weather
one of the most difficult playing services ive ever played on and the weather really makes it so hard to play football here! I played as a kid here and as an adult, it didnt get easier! The pitch is on one hell of a slope and only a short distance from the sea! Portland fc play in the southern league div 1 but dont play to a great standard, its a very clicky club, its lovely if the weather is good but boy can it blow up there!!

what a dive
this is overcrowded smelly too busy and not enough room to cope with the amount of people that come and go. after a certain hour you have to hand all glasses back and you get these plastic ones-why not just give plastic ones for outside in the first place?? toilets have definately seen better days and i would not use the toilet after a while!!!! they are obviously not cleaned very often!!

this is a really pleasant looking place from outside-the decor inside is really nice and plenty of places to sit. toilets are clean and tidy. you tend to queue quite a bit at the bar if it is a busy night-the food on teh other hand-not good!! the gammon i had was really tough and the portions are quite small-not worth the visit

These guys are the reason why i was happy to wait 30 min for my holiday to be sold to me!! Tappers are well rooted here and im afraid it shows.They dont really want to put the effort in to help you, they package everything so if you want to be slightly different with your choice, then look out! Not my fav travel shop at all

we had a work do that needed me to stay in exeter one night. The great western was available and cheap, i now know why it was cheap! The room was like one of the rooms in the series rising damp, the breakfast had literal fat dripping from the uncooked bacon and the owner looked like he`d seen better days! Not for me again im afraid!

so small
this has to be the smallest audi dealer ive seen. Its upstairs above the VW dealership, silver st motors. They have one salesman who never seems to be there plus the stock/display is very poor, its mixed up with all the vw`s. I think this maybe a satellite dealer to the one in taunton!

sharp sales
Not my idea of an ideal place to buy your car but i know for a fact that they do sell loads here! Its the car supermarket in marsh barton and hold about 300 used cars on site! Its right opposite the main ford dealr so gets a huge anount of footfall. The guys who sell here are very sharp so be warned!!

Pretty poor
hired a car from these guys, im not sure if id do it again, i thought by using the national company would be good but i think id use a local business next time!! Not interested in me, the client, tried to give me a crap car and didnt want to notice damage before i took it! Not impressed!!

like daihatsu this dealership is really not in the best place on the estate! the showroom is very small and the used car facility is very restricted to be honest. Such a shame because this cars range has improved so much over the last few years!!

Very small
in my view, the wrong part of the estate. This dealership along with skoda is hidden away and not great when you get there! The car showroom is very small and the used cars part is only room for about 15 cars! Pretty poor when you consider this is the biggest car estate in europe now!!

renwicks are a huge group in the south west with both hyundai and peugeot on the same site here in exeter! The showroom is huge but im not overly impressed with the way they set it out! Huge used car display too!

im not a fan of this chain for a few reasons. They dont cater for the more abscure sports that kids want to get involved in, the staff are ignoranta and not interested, the store in yeovil is not big enough and the prices are a joke!!

the old business park rears its ugly head with this one im afraid! Its massive inside and stocks anything mildly associated to sports! The staff are very young and really not happy about serving you! The hussle and bussle of the town is better for the shopping experience!

Not good service
the local renault dealer on marsh barton, we bought a renault megane convertable last month but these guys missed out because of their attitude! We wondered around tyhe forecourt looking for something near what we were looking for, got served by a young fly by night and when we said we wanted to spend no more than £6K he went. Nice!!

First impressions count for me, i so wanted a tattoo to match up with my first tat but the first impression i got from the guy that first spoke to me in here put me right off! this centre as the above lady says is looking a little tired now, its also situated in a more choice part of the city!!! The hall is ok but has a pretty disconcerting floor which wasnt great when we played 5aside football on it! It could have been cleaner too!

Not much choice
A little sports shop which has had to fight like hell to stay open! Its only very small and i have to say the stock isnt very exciting. Although i did buy my brother his b`day present here this year it was difficult to get what he wanted here! The supply of the local football club has helped but i think an extension would help the guys

i have to say that this place and HM in the town are really just for the kids amongst us! The product is so called labelled but the quality suggests its not all what it seems! Plus the dispalys are rarely tidy and the kid factor comes to play if your visiting on a sat!
