Selection 
A god send to me and my kids, they have a great book selection here plus the music dept here is very good as the other record shop has closed in town! The mag`s selection is really good, you can get your lottery ticket from here and the sweets are here for the kids when they leave school!

Im surprised but really glad this little electrical store has survived. They are right next door to the betting shop in new st, they have all you could want from tv`s to hifi`s, the shop is quite small but the man who owns the shop knows them all inside out! This is great as they will deliver and install for free too!

One of the nicest bakers in town with the best bread rolls you`ll get anywhere! They bake here on site and the lovely old ladies that serve you here are so helpfull! You can have a quick cuppa here too but its only very small! Packed on a saturdau when its market day but its very much worth the wait!

A fantastic little cycle shop, i have bought several bikes for the kids from here when they were younger! The two guys that run this shop are really great at repairs and the service they give when you want to buy is first class! You can get some great prices with that personal touch you dont get from halfords and the like.

The original supermarket for the town before the tesco came to town a few yrs ago! Its right in the middle of the town so still gets an awfull lot of business. They have some gt 3 for 2 offers here and my kids love the fresh bread etc you can get from here! Still very worth a visit!

A privately owned little jewellers that proffess in the antique jewellery. The stock is lovely and very well sourced. the staff here are very very helpful and not at all pushy. The shop is very small but the service is well worth waiting for !

The other phone shop in the town but not as good as the orange shop in my view! the shop is a little bigger but it works a little like a supermarket. you seem to have to help yourself when you get in there and the staff are not quite as helpful! the stock is fine but the deals dont seem to be very evident here!

this is a very good shop for the youth of today but can be a little pricey conpared to the big chains in exeter! they really have an excellent range of jeans and the t shirts are very way out, very popular with my son who wanted a NIRvana T shirt, got one from here! Not for me but then i am over 40!!

the local ford dealership which is a satelite dealership to exeter ford! they have been ford for 40 yrs now so have a great reputation for the great service you always get from such small garages! they have a very good workshop and mot centre! the cars on display only total to about 10 but you can gurantee a very good quality of car!!

only just closed down a couple of months ago, its a shame as they really did cater for the children aswell as the adults, they also had a reading corner for all reading standards to sit and read a book or two before buying! situated right next door to the health centre, if you get a prescription then its straight next door to get your medicine!! they also have some great deals on things like suntan lotion and sun glasses! they are very friendly and they stay open all hours to accomodate the centre!!

This shop is a great place to go if you feel like pampering yourself up! You can have your hair cut, however you can also have many other things done including, Manicure/Pedicure,Facial,Tanning and Massages. I advise you to make an appointment before you go, as it usually gets very busy in here.

This place feels like a real traditional hairdressers with alot of helpful staff. There are very many different types of styles of haircut you can have! The styles weregreat for me when i whent there,however i decided to have a grade 1 at the barbers with Alan Rowe!

fantastic value
up the little alley beside the florist in the high street! Alan and his two ladies are so very helpful, alan himself is a fellow spurs fan and really cuts your hair the old fashioned way! I love to come in here as the atmosphere is what i remember how barbers were 30 yrs ago! A great haircut and chat for only £4, what great value, lovely experience!!

one of the only places where you can get your tyres checked for free plus have your exhaust and tyres changed! Its just up the road from the ford dealer so gets some business from them when they get mot work!! Its also open some great hours, most of the day on saturday and early sunday morning!

When you open the door there is many educational artifacts and little bits and bobs! for all the kids there are some quiz sheets were you look around the museum and answer questions about the different things in the museum. Also if you like the honiton lace, as the honiton lace shop has shut down, there is lace in the back part of the museum. It is great for everyone Young-old!

a very busy butchers especially on a saturday morning! the real old fashion look when you get in the door, the saw dust on the floor and the blood stained coats of the butchers behind the counters! The quality of the meat is second to none and we get our meat from here when we`re in the town!

most def the best unisex hairdressers in the town. They have both woman and men hairdressers and have quite a waiting list if your not careful! They have a very good reputation and the stylists are very very helpful! The salon is lovely and roomy, not too cramped and very airy when all the hairdryers are on!

a new cafe with a very modern look, just up from the boston tea party, they do like to serve more up market stuff, they do lovely milkshakes according to my daughter, they have a very upmarket look from the outside, much like youd expect to see in london! the little chef franchise doesnt exist here anymore but the restaraunt does still exist as before under new management! The car park is a little awkward to drive into as its on a very bad corner, the hours of opening are good and late if your travelling back to devon from away! The service is a little slow though!!

In my view the best of the two choices you have in the town, the owner always greets you at the door on arival and the waitresses are superb! The menu is so easy to read and its all explained if you dont quite undersatnd what the dish is! The taste is out of this world and love to visit here in big numbers, great for a works do or a sports teams end of season night out!!

One of two shops in the town but in my mind not the best im afraid! They are open for alot of the day and night but they never seem to have the sausages or fish cakes ready to buy so you will have to wait for your order which on a fri eve is not what you want is it!! The other one is up New st!!

A pretty select place to come to, its very popular with the older drinker, ie, over 40`s who still love a smoke and a bit of a juke box to listen to! They love to have the footie on too which is when i have been in there! They do like there drink here so if you go in be aware that they could have some very drunk people in here!

A god send when i was living in honiton. I has a gas fire in the living room that was starting to smell of gas, got this guy in to sort it out, kevin got to me within an hour and sorted the fire out and made me safe again! I would very much recommend this guy for all your gas needs at least!

A fabulous golf club with some of the longest and sloped holes in the county! the clubhouse is lovely but could be a little bigger really bearing in mind the amount of members. It has a years waiting list to be a member, i was a member but had to let it lapse because of cost! The course itself is very testing but fantastic for the medium handicap golfer! About £700 per year!!

the towns vauxhall dealership which is owned by the father dealership in exeter! they have a nice 6 car showroom for new vauxhalls, a used car forecourt which can carry upto 25 cars which all face the BP petrol station next door, this seems to be a great source of custom. They have a great reputation for service quality and the servicing costs seem to be some of the best in honiton!

the towns dept store, i love this place because its cahnged with the times and really does compete with the nationals! They sold me some carpet and a single chair 5 yrs ago and they are still as good as new now. The family still own and work in the store after over 50 yrs in location.

Honitons version of market carpets of exeter and exmouth. They have all your carpets, vinyl, rugs and most floor covering youd want! They do have some great fitters but i have to say the shop staff are not the best ive experienced! they dont really care whether you buy from them or not to be honest! I happened to want some carpet pretty NOW so i was a easy customer for them!!

The most busy but not in my mind the best coffee/cake shop in town, their location is superb, right in the moddle of the twon. The cakes are lovely but packed with lots of false cream, the bakery is very good though with lots of lovely fresh bread to choose from! The coffee shop is ok but i would only use this as a takeaway persoanlly!

Not everyones place but i have to say it came in handy to both myself and a friend of mine a few yrs ago! I had very little cash available and had to fit out a house with furniture etc and the guy at the honiton secondhand shop sorted me really well. In new st, they will deliver, they have setee`s, tv`s, tables, chairs and beds! The prices are flexible too whic suited me fine!!

thank god this place went digital a year or so ago as im sure they would have gone pop by now! They have a nice lucrative deal with the two schools locally so seem very busy with sittings! The collection time is better than boots plus they are able to advice on photography when you take your digi camera in"!

A butcher that is run and owned by lloyd maunder who runs and owns a huge amount of butchers in and around the area! this shop is only about 5 yrs old, its huge and sells all that is butchery! Not my favourite as i like to support the little guys but still very nice!!

The very trendy place to be for the up and coming business people of the town! Its open well past the pubs as they have a private license and will serve alcohol and coffee`s. the clinton cards of honiton except this is a locally owned and run version! The lady loves this little shop and it shows in the way she displays her cards! Right in the middle of honiton, right next door to lloyds bank! The store is over run by school kids at 3.30, so my son tells me and the same at about 8.45am. This is so handy for the little things, ie milk, chees, bread etc, open late on thurs and fri but also opens sun mornings!!

Now called Bath travel, the best here i would say, there is a first choice hol`s here too but doesnt compete with these days! We bought our holiday to crete here and the girls were great in helping move the airport we flew from! Its open all day sat and will open on a sun morning if you need them too! They do houses to let!!
This is a very posh estate agents in town, i had tried all but this one when i was looking to live here but assumed they wouldnt have houses to let, much to my surprise they did and again surprised they were very helpful and found me my first house in honiton! The office also stays open all day on sat`s which helped me move in big time!!

used to be an interflora, i like to support this little florist as they try to supply flowers mainly from the uk not holland! Theye also stay open until 7pm on a friday which ive found very helpful on many occasions in the past. Im sure many guys in the past have had there life saved by Dillys in the past too!

Very convenient
This national drinks supplier is only been here for 5 yrs or so. They do try to compete with the wine world shop along the road but survive purely with ist beer deals! Ive taken advantage of its 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 deals, fantastic for the emergency pint if your entertaining as they are right in the middle of town!!

This shop has been here again for a long time and the lady that is now here is the daughter of the original owner! All you need as far as cushions, fabrics, net for curtains, throws, quilt covers, pillow cases, sheets, pillows! If you like your wines like we do then Tim, the owner can help you with your fav`s or suggest some new ones from all around the world.The shop is located right next door to the wine bar so has a good drip of customers, the wine is dispalyed on the floor all in their origianl boxes!! Just up the road
The ideal service to have when your living alone and have just moved into a rented house! I had a washing machine leaking and a cooker not working (gas), so i called into this guy and he was out like a flash, sorted the two within an hour and that was that! Charged very little and even offered a great deal on a better machine for me!! Nice man!

Not just curtains in here, they sell the poles, hooks and nets if you need them! We had our first house done with curtains from here, they can do them to size for you or you can buy them ready made here too! The shop must be over 25 yrs in the same ownership, this tends to be the way in this town!!

Blast from the past
this is a wonderful shop and im amazed they have managed to stay open! they have the shop window to die for, old model trains, old comic books, metal soldiers and the like. Its only a very small shop but once your in it keeps you compelled for hrs. They have old doll`s houses and the greatest selection of Action men ive ever seen. Awsome shop to visit!!!

A little peugeot dealership on the edge of honiton, franchised with a massive reputation locally. They have to be very good on the servicing side and the parts dept supply a huge area into east devon! A satellite dealer to the one in exeter so doesnt have the worry of them undercutting the deal! I like the way renwicks work.

a small pub tucked away at the back of the railway station. Been through tough times lately but had some local money pumped in and a younger couple in at the healm! Lovely little menu which i know is starting to attract soem local office staff!

this book shop is only about 3 doors up from WH smith in honiton but fares very very well! This is so down to the staff and their enthusiasm for the book worms amongst us! Any prices are not a problem too, they price promise so as to not lose deals!

whilst living in honiton for 8 years, its always a great idea to get yourself a friendly local mecahnic under your arm so to speak!! The guys here have had a new workshop built and now going into the car sales world! So nice to know your not going to get hoodwinked when visiting this place

every town should have the archetypal toy shop. This one is just fab and gets me to stop every time im in the town, with the kids or not!! They had an extension done a couple of years ago and is very much paying off! I love this shop, mainly around the xmas period!!

great sports centre
this a friendly sports centre with a huge array of sports to choose from.i play squash here once twice a week and the courts are in pretty good shape-the showers are also ok. my partner swims here and there is always plenty of room in the pool although for parking you have to be careful as some nights it gets really busy but there is free parking at the end of the road by the honiton community college.

cheap but chearful
this store is ok as far as cheap stuff goes-quite handy for garden and kitchen wear-some of the stuff you wouldn't touch with a barge pole!!Great for garden pots big or small!!on the whole i would stick to b and q!!

they do there own kids meals and have a very relaxed feel about the whole place! We know this is a national brand but in honiton they will serve you properly and there leather setee`s are great to relax in when you want to watch the world go by!!

fun keys
if you need/want a key cut then you can have a casing of your choice made and put on the key! Also they have lots of little gift type objects which you like to expect from a little town shop! Really useful place to have in the town

this little sports shop has everything for all sports plus the full range for guides and cups/scouts!! I always used to like sports shops when i was younger but this one is far better than in my childhood! My daughter loves the choice and the colours of the kits on display!

high prices good quality
this is a very different place to go rather than just to go to tesco, the only problem is that the prices are at a premium. The store has clothes which are very reasonable and better than the stuff you can buy from the other supermarkets!!

great man
this guy is a fantastic mechanic and a true gent! He helped my mum out when she had an accident outside his house and then helped to organise the repair of her car! Plus he is very good at advising on car prices etc!

Everything you could ever want for your pet you will find here!! although i dont have a pet my kids have a cat called jasper and he does very well from this pet shop!! food ,toys etc are quite expensive however there are bargains to be found

great healthy food
i have always prised myself on eating healthily-but this shop does me to shame!! there are so many things to choose from including all my "bad" things ie chocolate covered raisins!! if you prefer yogurt "stuff" you can get brazil nuts and raisins!!

this is a great place for a wide range of jewelery if you cant make it to exeter. they have affordable prices which is always a good thing when buying things for my partner!! and they also sell little bowls that can match the colour of your selected jewelery

its a really small shop but can be compared to the tardis as when you enter the shop its seems really big. there is also a kids area now where the is a range if childrens clothing-a great store to visit if you dont manage exeter and fat face!! they often have sales which is always a good thing!!

this shop, like its sister shop in exeter is wonderfull. Unfortunately i went to go in last weekend and found that it has closed. They used to carry lots of fab badges which my son loved to buy for his school bag!
