Appalling 
this is a 5 star hotel and in many ways it deserves that, but in others it definately doesnt! the valet/car care service was a real let down for me! im a car freek and the way they treated my car was worse than my 1 yr old daughter would have done for me! the car was dripping wet when i got it back and they didnt even bother doing the wheels! appalling service!!

girlie shop 
sells cheap imitation perfume, lots of girlie things like hair bands, dog clips for the ladies hair, butterfly clips , bracelts, necklaces some triabal and dress necklaces.they have wooden carvings and many from lots of different countries! Very nice for the insence and oils that you can burn to kake your house smell lovely!! A girlie shop!!

£1 bet 
The first and only casino that ive ever been in and i loved evry minute of it! The place is techniaclly a members only club but i was allowed in as a guest! The lovely thing about this casino is that they will take £1 best on the black jack table which suited me down to the ground, if you can control yourself then its well worth the visit!

Great building
One of the oldest shopping buildings in the town right on the harbour front! Its got 4 floors and really is the new with the old! the perfumes etc are right as you walk in and really get you gripped with the smell and the ladies full of make up! The mens clothes is also ground floor but limited choice. The ladies fashion is on the first floor and the restaurant is on the third. Home and cutlery etc is on the 4th. I really oove this debenhams as it reminds me of how it was but the guys fashion could be bigger for me!! Still lovely shop though

great local Fruit and veg
A fruit and veg shop which also has a branch in paignton. Its a lovely store with fresh local fruit and veg right in the middle of the shopping heart of the town. Its lovely to know you still can get what you know is locally grown veg from here and not have to rely on the supermarket all the time. prices here are very competative, if anything cheaper than the big markets!

Keeps you regular
Im really getting into this shop, we spend every other weekend in torquay and in always buying some nuts/raisens or some other healthy food for my lunch through the week. This branch is popular but not too rammed that i have to wait for long, i like esp the expertise the ladies can give here for fitness and dietry advice. The national sales the brand has is here too so its worth the fortnightly wait! I bright shop too so makes it a nice visit!

very swish
One of two pizza huts in the town but this one tends to not get quite so busy as the other! When we take the kids to quay west we use Pizza hut here as the treat! For the adults its the endless salads/pasta runs, for the kids its the ice cream/sweets at the end, i try to partake but mainly to full by then! The tiolets in this pizza hut are brand new and supply after shave for the guys plus scented handkerchiefs! Very swish!!

Lack of good choice for me
I know this is a national brand but i really dislike clinton cards esp this one in torquay. Im not a fan of all the soft toys and balloons they have all over the window, i thought they were a card shop? The prices are incredible and the choice is all a little fluffy for me. The shop is huge too so it takes ages to even get close to the card you need. Bought an anniversary card for my inlaws here in Feb but vowed i wouldnt spend my hard earned in here again. Not a nice experience for me.

Exquisite choice
An independant clothing shop which im sure bleeds off the fact that it has a name similar to the national chain! I like this shop alot as its got really nice italian imported jeans plus the suits are very individual. The brothers that run the shop are great and realise that customer service is where they will always win out in the end! Very good experience to shop here.

Brilliant xmas shop
Fantastic sales tend to be on most of the time. Only woman/girls clothes so handy for me to buy for the two girls in my family. Fantastic choice for both the youger and older lady, good quality but also great value! the add ons available too are cool, hand bags, earings and belts, i had a whale of a time buying for them both for xmas just gone!! the girls who work here were great with me and found it really amuzing, in a good way!!

Brilliant
We both had our eyes tested here about 3 mths ago, they were fantastic with both of us, ive never worn glasses but nik has had since very young but they treated us both with the same professionalism. They were very thorough and gave Nik a huge choice of frames etc for her new lenses.In the end she could have designer glasses and she ended up being given 3 different pairs for the same price of 1 elsewhere! Brilliant

Time warp
A smallish bhs here but it is a pretty old fashioned store. The trendy exeter store does run rings around it but then people here in torquay do tend to shop locally on the whole. The clothing dept is tucked away leaving the majority of the room for lighting and accessories etc! My only beaf with this bhs is that it seems to have been left in a time warp along with their staff! Not really for me!

Changing rooms
Union st has the majority of the clothing shops here, River island in torquay is a nicer shop than exeter, its cleaner and not so confused. The ladies fashion is on the ground floor then the guys upstairs. They are now having many more sales on, the ladies doesnt have many changing rooms so they have to use the guys ones sometimes! (Shame i hear you say)

Not great access
A really long shop in union st but not massive, the music dept could be bigger but i feel the stationary dept is really the one they def want to push in torquay! there isnt a staples close so they utilize this here. The shop does seem to sell loads of papers and sweets as they are easily accessable and the tills are right by the door, sometimes a problem with being able to get into the shop!!

Got the whole choice
Definately the nicest book shop in torquay, both nik and i seem to spend many an hour in here as they really dont mind if you take a seat and read for a while. They have had several good signings here recently so have really go themselves on the map! I love the kids dept here too, they really have looked after the whole circle of client!!

wooden floor
This is a really big store and is right by the railway line. its really busy in the summer with all the tourists down here plus it has the sweets dept right by the entrance, more than tempting for people like me!! Its quite modern now as they have had a new wooden floor installed this year which has cleaned it up a bit!

older staff
Torquay has about 7 mobile shops to choose from and thank god i have a company mobeile so i dont really have to worry about them but Nik needed a new upto date mobile so here we go! We went to all but one, then we hit the o2 store, they were far more helpful than most plus the shop seemed more airy and open than the rest! the displays are clean, choice of phone is v good plus they had stock of the phone she wanted! I love the i phone these guys have too, the torquay branch also employes older staff which we found is favourable

lovely rolls
sister shop in exeter, this chain are the devon equivalent to the cornish pasty company! We always go in here when we`re shopping in either exeter of torquay, manly because i hat pastys but love their sausage rolls! Its got lovely seating inside too and the tiolets are pretty good!

burgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i really dont like burgers to much but you can get decent breakfast baps here!! not much to look at from the outside and although very clean not alot to look at from the inside either-toilets are clean and tidy. seating is abit cramped. food ok-basic but hot-served quickly and tastes decent enough!! on the whole if you are looking for something quick and hot this is the place.

quite small
i absolutely love chocolate!! and my partner is quite partial too!! the set out is the same as every thorntons you go in-so quite boring really!! staff aren't overly friendly and if not on the till-but on the shop floor- will keep you waiting untill-it seems-they are ready to serve you!! still too expensive for what it is!!

this is a lovely shop-very nice looking from the outside adn beautifully presented on the inside- all glass cabinets presenting some really very pretty jewellery. i got my partner some beautiful earings that she adores- this may be more expensive than your hm samuel and your argos-but well worth every penny.

too expensive
this store is set in a great place right opposite the harbour. the prices are well over what they should be-the quality and designer factor are the same as dingles and debenhams but they are cheaper-unless they have a sale then-my partner tells me-they do some fantastic "deals especially on Jane Norman(her favourite). everything is very well rpesented.

great value for money-they do the lot-underwear socks shoes bags clothes etc etc-it's just that when you walk in the clothes are all over the place including the floor-situated right in the middle of the high street-opposite dorothy perkins it couldnt have been placed better-all in all a good place to go for bargains.

this store is really well laid out and presente very well. i can't help thinking that the prices are a bit over board!! even when there are sales on they really dont reduce the prices that much!! some of the clothes don't look great quality either

great sausage rolls
this a great bakery-gorgeous sausage rolls and hot breakfast baps!! huge variety of cakes as awell as doing toasted sandwhiches and jacket potatoes!! not bad pasties either!! all different sorts!! although i will take my partners word for it-i don't do pasties.

good advice
my partner needed to get a radio mike as she used to sing professionally. they were overly helpful and produced the right mike almost immediately-expensive but then this type of equipment always is and it was great to get expert help where needed as this had to be exactly right.

good choice of clothing although the jumpers do tend to be on the large side!!the choice of t-shirts is great although i tend to find that the general clothing range in burtons is for the "older" man!!??good choice of suit if you need to have one for work.

the staff are quite helpful here although the store gets fairly busy and trying to find a member of staff "hanging"around that you would like to speak to or ask advice from becomes difficult-once you have decided on the particular item you want to buy the staff can answer the majority of questions you through at them!!

we went here during the half term hols, was surprised about the price and the lack of things to do! Yes, there are some fab penguins and the birds are great but we were expecting alot more to interest not just the kids but the adults too
