Review of Los Amigos

Excellent value and great quality 5*

A great little restaurant that stands out amongst the dozens of potential places to eat on Church Road. The food is reasonably priced but of superb quality. I had the fajitas and wasn't disappointed, the portions are very generous as well. The wine list and cocktail menu is extensive with something for everyone. Try the cocktails if you're looking for something special. The service was spot on as well, very attentive without being too pushy or fussy. A really perfect place to eat if you get bored of Italian again.

Review of Macari's

Nice but pricey 3*

Stopped off here for something quick after spending lots of money on the pier.

My girlfriend had a hot chocolate which was nice but expensive, I had a scone with jam and butter which was more reasonable and very fresh. Very clean inside and good friendly service but can't help but think the prices are set to make the most of hungry tourists in the summer

Review of Cineworld

As you'd expect 3*

The usual for a cinema really, expensive unless you go for the early bird which is when most people are working, the popcorn and sweets are as expensive as you'd think.

The seats are comfortable and it's clean so overall it's good which is important as it's only one of 2 in the area

Review of Asda Stores

No Vegetarian food in Brighton?? 1*

I was in the Marina so decided to do my shop at Asda instead of the convenient Tesco. Everything was going well until I went to get some frozen vegetarian food. After walking round the frozen section 3 times we decided to ask the manager who was close by. He also walked round a few times not knowing where it was, he then spoke to a colleague who told us sheepishly that there was in fact no vegetarian frozen food on the shelves. For Brighton this is pretty poor and I won't be shopping there again

Review of The Katarina Beefeater

Surprisingly exceptional 5*

I know it sounds odd to say that this place was surprisingly exceptional but it really was! I came here expecting the usual pub chain food and quality but it was really beyond all expectations.

The service was great, Dirk our waiter was very helpful and friendly offering advice on dishes. The food came quickly, the portions were amazingly generous and very tasty. When the bill came for 3 courses it was still very reasonable. I would definitely come back again

Review of Brighton Tandoori

Good quality and good food 4*

So many takeaways to choose from but this one was recommended to me and I wasn't disappointed.

The prices are very good, all dishes come with rice or nan, the delivery times are also good. They tell you 45mins-1 hour but it's never that long.

The food is good quality and not too greasy with very generous portions.

Review of Oliver's Sandwich Bar

11 Apr 08, 11:16

Perfect for a quick bite 4*

A small but perfectly formed sandwich place if you don't want supermarket food for lunch. Always a great selection of fillings, jacket potatoes, paninis and specials every day. The banter is very jolly and the lady who works there is always very friendly. Every visit is a pleasure

Review of Pizza Hut

Not a great hour 2*

Came here to take advantage of the buffet at lunch. Waited a while to be seated, were then led to the table by an odorous waiter.

We both went for the buffet which was well stocked but the general cleanliness was poor.

Review of The Friars Oak

A nice pub 3*

I'd been before and really enjoyed it, a nice pub in a pleasant location with an open fire which is always appealing.

The menu is the same as other pubs in this chain which has a good choice unless you are vegetarian. The service is always friendly and quick and the price isn't bad either. A nice place to stop if you're passing

Review of Fit Four All

Getting better... 3*

A very reasonably priced gym without all the frills of some of the bigger chains. There is plenty of parking so that is never an issue and it's easy to get to. This place is definitely getting better. When i joined, the changing rooms were small and smelly though the equipment is good and there should be everything you need. There is a man who always walks round doing odd jobs on his own so slowly but surely this place is getting better, they're investing in it and already you can tell the difference. If you want a gym (no pool) without the posers in it, where you can workout and be treated nicely by the friendly helpful staff then you should try it ouy.
