Review of Caruso Restaurant

Small glasses 4*

This is remarkably nice considering its location. On one of the most grim roads in Brighton, this small inconspicuous restaurant is a delight. I've only ever been for lunch and have only ever been delighted. It is superb value for money, cheap lunch, very good pizza and pasta. My one gripe is that they use those really small wine glasses, you know the ones you can get at ikea or really cheap at the supermarket, apart from that it's wonderful!

Review of Albert's Shed

Another jewel in the Castlefield crown 5*

This is yet another of the fantastic places to eat and drink in Castlefield. It's next to Dukes 92 and just round the corner of the cobbled street from Barca. It's an ultra modern, chic and enjoyable place to come with mates for a quick pint or for a long drawn out meal, gossip and a few bottles of wine

Review of Leonardo Ristorante Italiano

Mama would be proud 4*

This is a superb little Italian restaurant on a road where there are more Italian restaurants than people.

From the outside it might not look much but go inside and the experience begins. The decor is neutral, one up from basic, but it doesn't need to be any more than that, this place isn't about showing off or being ultra chic, it's about good wholesome Italian food in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

The staff are very welcoming and as far as I can tell, they are also Italian which is novel nowadays (either that or they put on a cracking Italian accent) You are welcomed quickly and shown to your spacious table. Even for 2 people the tables are large so there is plenty of room for the garlic bread, bruschetta, wine bottle, water jug, glasses, mobile phone, keys and breadsticks.

The menu is extensive and reasonable. There is the usual list of pasta, pizza and meat or fish dishes. The risotto is superb, fresh ingredients, well cooked and well presented. The bowls they use here are so good I actually bought some for my flat!

You'll get a nice surprise when the bill comes, it's not too expensive at all, unless of course you sit there all night and down bottles of vino, but then you'll be too merry to worry about the cost. Enjoy the experience of a true Italian gem

Review of Zizzi

Good food, nice atmosphere 3*

There are so many Italian restaurants, not only in Brighton but especially in this area of brighton so hats off to Zizzi's for ensuring they always offer high quality food in a pleasant environment.

It's another italian chain but you don't feel like you're just another person filling up a table, the service is friendly and personal and the food is exceptional so you feel like you've had a really pleasant dining experience when you leave here.

Review of Pomodoro E Mozzarella

Great pre-theatre meal 4*

Italian is Italian right? They're all the same aren't they?? Well Pomodoro is just another Italian but it's a superb one at that.

If you're on a night out in Eastbourne and you want somewhere to eat first or if you are going to the theatre and want something quick to eat, then you should think about coming here. It's very convenient for the theatre and close to all the bars and clubs as well.

The food is excellent and reasonably priced, try the Mozzarella in Carossa for starter, excellent.

A favourite of mine every time I am in Eastbourne, which isn't often but when I am.....

Review of Strada

Beautiful food and lovely setting 5*

The city is not short of Italian restaurants and had I not had a 2 for 1 voucher for Strada, in truth I probably wouldn't have tried it...but I'm glad I did.

Set overlooking the water in Brighton Marina, it's a beautiful restaurant, modern but comfortable. We sat on a decent sized table for 2, were served quickly and with a smile.

For starter we shared the Garlic Bread with Rosemary, which was simply superb. Garlic bread is garlic bread at the end of the day but this was delicious, served in a nice basket and just enough for a starter. My girlfriend had the Risotto with lots of green vegetables which was superb, good portion size and very healthy. I had the pizza which was also delicious. The price isn't bad either.

Check the back of your cinema tickets from Cineworld because sometimes they have vouchers for Strada, even if you don't and you want somewhere different to eat after the cinema, go here.
