Review of Zucca Restaurant

15 Apr 08, 17:11

Italian 3*

It's got a great atmosphere and a really good selection of food. Everything is pretty much reasonably priced.

The tables are a bit close together, so if you're going for a bit of private dining, probably not for you.

Review of Goodbody's Restaurant

All night breakfast's! 4*

Has to be the best in Plymouth.

You can get burgers and chips etc, but the place is open 24 hours so if you've been out for the night, you can get a fry up whenever you want and they loads of breakfast choices!

A bit pricey for a fry up but worth it- saturday's night's be prepared to wait.

Review of Lorenzos

15 Apr 08, 17:16

Sangria! 4*

Lorenzo's is a great place to go pre-theatre as it's literally a couple of minutes walk away.

They have great tapas, which may seem small on arrival but they definitely fill you up!

Order a jug of Sangria, hopefully the weather is good, and you can pretend to actually be in Spain!

Review of The Blues Bar & Grill

15 Apr 08, 17:19

Good atmospehere 4*

The Blues bar does great food through the day and evening- you can sit outside if it's warm enough and the view is pretty good!

They often have live bands, only been in a friday when someone has been singing and I was really impressed.

Just don't drink the 'desperados' on an empty stomach!

Review of Cafe Cappuccino

15 Apr 08, 17:22

Now Havana! 5*

Cafe cappuccino was converted into Havana just over a year ago.

They make the most amazing tapas- try the lamb kofte!

I know they're just about to launch a new menu and I've had a sneaky taste of some of it- still amazing!

The cocktails are really good too- they free pour the measures!

Review of Captin Jaspers

16 Apr 08, 10:57

Hangover heaven! 5*

Best visited in the summer or at least when it's dry as it's outside and there's not much cover.

But it's definitely worth the visit- I would recommend the cheddar porker, Big J, or a Jasperiser- but to be fair I love those 3 so much haven't even tried any of the others yet!

The staff are really friendly and when the weather's good, there's no-where better, sunglasses are needed if you're requiring a fry up/ hangover lift!

Review of The Gorge Cafe

16 Apr 08, 11:08

Massive fry ups 3*

The Gorge is best known for it's massive fry ups, basically they come in a bit bigger than average, big, bigger, large, huge and mammouth!

Pretty good as fry ups go and good value for money.

Review of China House

16 Apr 08, 11:10

great atmosphere 4*

This pub offers different things depending on what time of year it is.

In the winter, they've got a large fire lit, feels a bit like a country pub with good hot food.

In the summer, you can sit outside and there are great views, the kind of place you lie on the long benches that go around the outside wall with a bottle of wine and watch the yachts coming in and out of QAB.

Review of Cloud Nine

16 Apr 08, 11:13

Now on Milehouse road 5*

The staff are really friendly, they always do a great job and make you feel relaxed.

I get my nails done there, but the best thing has to be the facials. Crystak ckear and purakis are the best- they can last up to an hour and a half! You get wrapped up in a big towelling sleeping bag and completely relax.

Amazing

Review of Rose & Crown

16 Apr 08, 11:22

WOW! 5*

Not the kind of place you go every day as it is quite expensive for dinner but once in a while definitely worth the trip.

For two the eal was about £70 but £30 of that was the bottle of red, and we had three courses!

They change the menu quite often and I also think they do cheaper lunch menus.
