Cosy
We had a lovely meal here recently, the service was good although the knowledge of the menu wasn't brilliant. Our coffees were cold, but they replaced them quickly.

Hot
I went here years ago to celebrate New Year, and the air-con broke, I've never been so hot! It got to the point where the bouncers were letting people go out through the emergency exit for 10 mins at a time just to get some air. I've not been there for years now, as its a bit to rowdy... it's fine during the day but def not if you're looking for a quiet drink over the weekend.

Modern twist on traditional food
Met some friends for dinner here and it was really nice. The food was a bit expensive for pub food, but if you look at it as a relaxed restaurant it's a bit easier to deal with! The menu was full of traditional food, but it was served with a modern twist. Def book, as it was really busy in both the restaurant and at the bar.

Nice for lunch. Odd for Valentines!
Went there for lunch and it was nice. They were very patient with the 2 children we had with us, who just wanted to run around and around the table (until they were fed that was!) We got the Valentine menu (cos it's such a romantic name) but it wasn't very good so we didn't go. No vegetarian option...

It used to be my 6th Form Common Room
It's not brilliant, but it's not bad either! A pretty standard pub to be honest. Good range of food and drinks, friendly service and lots of seating both inside and out. I do miss the trampoline that used to be in the garden... they decided to build some houses there instead.

Lovely
Back in the day, this pub was a bit tatty with sticky floors and tired decor. However it went under a transformation a couple of years ago and now it's lovely. The menu is full of traditional homecooked food, as well as sandwiches and jackets if you just want a snack. Plenty of seating, real fires in the winter, umbrellered outside seating for the summer.

busy busy busy!
Situated in the heart of Burley, this pub is a honeypot for tourists and local campers. Its menu is a good variety, and not too expensive. But turn up early if you want a table, esp if you're a large group. And if you're going to sit outside, expect to share your lunch with the passing donkeys!

Review of Night Jar

A standard Weatherspoons pub
The Night Jar in Ferndown is better than it used to be! When it first opened, the continuous offer of cut-priced drinks meant it was locally renamed 'The Fight Jar'. However it's all calmed down now and you're more likely to find OAP's enjoying the 2-4-1 meals than drunk teenagers!! The menu is good, big variety, and not too expensive.

Great service
Recently held a 'do' here and they were very helpful. They set aside part of the restaurant for us, as we had children attending and they're not allowed in the bar area. Loads of our guests were eating, although not all at the same time and they were very patient with the on-going ordering of food. Nice for a quick meal. Ok if you want somewhere to watch the footie (small tv in bar area)
