End of the line 
Always busy with commuters heading for Reading and mainline services to the West Country. The Fuller's pub is your last taste of London before you leave. I nearly jumped on the tracks when I found them serving awful St Austell ales one day.

Go west
Handy for mainline services to the West Country and ideal if you like being bashed about the head by idiots who insist on carrying their bags on their shoulders. It's one of those stations where the walk from the ticket machine to the platform feels like it's never going to end.

Review of Notting Hill Gate Underground Station

Avoid 
This is one of those stations that's right under a main road, so no matter what exit you take you always come out on the wrong side of the road to where you want to be. There's always a sense of relief after Notting Hill Gate because that's everyone gets off so you may finally get a seat.

Flowered up
They do do some nice arrangements and bits and pieces in here, but I'm always a bit disappointed when I see the big lorry coming in with their delivery of flowers from Holland. I'm sure they could find suppliers closer to home, and the blooms might last a bit longer too.

Don't look for it... 
because it's not there any more! So farewell then to the most expensive burger in North Devon. The best bit was when the waiters would all look at each other, count to three, then take the cover off of your dinner, you couldn't put a price on that. Well, you could, and it was a lot.

Make your home complete 
It's not just pine! They have some nice new oak furniture as well, and the prices are incredible, a lot lower than you'd pay in some other places. Make sure you look at the factory seconds bargain section upstairs: cut prices and there's often nothing wrong with.

Nightmares
Say Natural History Museum to me and all those childhood memories come flashing back of the endless visits we paid there as kids so I'm not surprised at all by the endless trails of children on school trips who are always getting in your way.

Not the biggest bakery in North Devon so it can be a bit of a wait to get in the door at busy times, but they keep it well stocked so at least they haven't run out of sausage rolls by the time you get to the front of the queue.

Put the tape measure away
Before I could walk in the door the assistant was all over me with the tape measure! It was like being assaulted by an octopus with a sewing kit. I think they had to be enthusiastic seeing as the clothes didn't really seem to be up to much.
