Look into his eyes 
As an old fogey I feel entirely justified in saying that this is the sort of entertainment we like to believe that children will find somewhat old fashioned nowadays, but believe in the power of the magic! They will love it!

Dig in! 
It's a lot more focussed on plants, seeds, tools and the like than some garden centres are, but oddly enough St John's seems to come into its own at Christmas. They really make an effort with their displays and they always have a huge choice of outdoor lights for the chav in you.

A nice selection of wines and you feel that the guy running the place has chosen them all personally: nice work if you can get it! There are some good deals available when he chooses six bottles around a theme and boxes them up for you.

Style over content
Yes it looks nice, and yes the staff are nice and friendly but they're not doing anything here that you can't get anywhere else. The refit's made it look nice, but the food's a bit mass-produced and microwave friendly.

It's like those old news films of Communist Russia in here. The shelves are always empty! Why open 24 hours a day if you've not got anything to sell? Not going back.

Small but perfectly formed
Ignore Tesco over the road: the veg they have in here is a lot better. There's also a good selection of dairy goods and some interesting stuff in packets! You'd be hard pressed to find any of it on the shelves in your supermarket.
