Great Guiness
A good solid local. It's been around for years and is still packed on the weekends.
The owners are a really friendly couple who live above the pub.
The food's alright and is served until late.
There's also a huge funtion room out the back.

A lot nicer now
Back in the day this pub was really weird. The right hand side was home to some nasty types, the left hand side was a bit of a youth club and all of it was clouded over with e thick smog of smoke.
Now it's a lot cleaner, the BBQ out the back actually gets used in the summer, although there's no getting away from the big road out the front!

This place no longer exists
This place no longer exists. It's now a Walkabout so look at that review if you're determined to go drinking in this building.
When it was open it was home to comfy sofas and a good DJ on the weekends. Now it's not.
So there!

If Skins was set in Bromley this is where they'd hang out.
Full of 15 year olds covered in make-up and aftershave depending on their gender... or maybe not in some cases
It's hard to see anything Australian about this at all apart from the Aboriginal drawings on the wall and the obsession with Rugby League on the teles

A wonderful traditional English Pub
This place is a real find. The patrons are a friendly bunch and you might be able to spot a celebrity or two in here on a Friday as I think there's some kind or radio station nearby.
I saw Sue Pollard in there a couple of weeks ago.
The beer is served a couple of degrees warmer than in most pubs which I think makes it easier to drink and the bar staff make sure that you have plenty of time to consider what you want to order by not rushing you the minute you walk to the bar.

Smelly
This place smells of wet tramps.
It has home made beer that gives you a headache although you could buy a football squad a round and still have change from a fiver.
It's like drinking in the pub in Holyoakes where every brand of drink looks similar to something you'd want to drink but isn't quite right

great BBQ
The sort of place you can spend a day getting slowly trashed on cider.
In the summer the huge beer garden is great with tented areas and a big BBQ somedays.
Gets really busy though with people spilling out of Regents Park

One of the few busy places left in Bromley
When you're choice is so small, this is one of the best bars in Bromley.
That's like saying Graeme Souness is one of the best Newcastle managers of the last 10 years. When the standard is so low you have to look for positives where you can get them.
Its main advantage is that it has people in it as apposed to be deserted like all the others!

Rugby crowd
One of the friendliest bars in Beckenham. It's a bit odd but the sort of place you could become a local without too much work.
I think it's the base for the Beckenham rugby club.
Loud party music on the weekend, it's great for people watching. Full of girls who are perhaps a bit old to go to the Bridge bar over the road, but who still want to have a good time if you get my drift!

Really cheap and cheerful
You can get a round of drinks here and get change from a fiver. But it's a bit nasty.
They've just had a bit of a re-fit but it's hard to see what's changed.
Just like any other Goose around the country, only really good if you're a few days away from pay day and broke

Now a Slug and Lettuce
This place got a makeover last year and is now a Slug and Lettuce. There's a good menu and it's pretty quiet during the week.
Gets busy on the weekends as people start here and then move up to Bridge Bar at 10ish
I seem to remember it closes quite early on a weekend though

Nice friendly local
This place has gotten a lot better since the smoking ban. It used to be a really smoggy bar, now it's a lot more enjoyable.
There's a good garden too right on the High Street.
Not really the sort of place I'd want to eat, but a good antidote to the other swanky-ish bars in Beckenham

Review of O'Neill's Irish Bar

Used to be better
This place used to have some great live Irish music on a Thursday, but then the morons who bought the converted flats above it complained that it was too noisy and the council banned the music.
If I was to buy a flat directly above a pub which had signs all over it saying LIVE MUSIC ON A THURSDAY, I wouldn't be surprised to hear live music on a Thursday.
Still it's nice enough. They play a lot of the sports although annoyingly won't put the commentary on a lot of the time. And karioke on a Thursday's worth a laugh!
