Review of Pitcher and Piano
04 May 07, 11:49
Chain bar
Angel's Pitcher and Piano is a nicely done out bar that's good for a quiet drink during the week, and gets very busy at the weekend. Personally I find it an average place to go on a Friday/Saturday night, and drinks are pretty expensive.

Review of The Assembly House
04 May 07, 11:43
Big airy pub
Assembly House is an impressive pub, with high ceilings, and a massive dome, which lets in tons of natural light. The clientele are mostly Kentish Town locals, and the pub has a welcoming feel. I hear the burgers are very good, but at £9 I've not been tempted to try one!

Review of Bar Solo
04 May 07, 09:01
Continental bar/restaurant
Bar Solo is a nicely done out Spanish themed bar. There is also a small restaurant at the back. The bar looks out onto Camden, and sitting on the sofas at the front ensures a few hours of enjoyable people watching over a Corona. The basement hosts regular club nights, which are always pretty crampt and sweaty. Bar Solo is best early evening during Happy Hour.

Review of Caffe Nero

Great coffee
Cafe Nero does really good coffee. It's also the last of the coffee chain shops that you can smoke in. They also serve a lovely hot milky drink with shots of hazelnut or vanilla in it.

Photo shop
Angel prints develops photos from film and digital cameras. It also provides specialist services, like printing onto mugs and t-shirts. Staff are very friendly.

Review of Browns
02 May 07, 22:23
Good restaurant and wine bar
Browns is a very large restaurant in Angel. It serves a range of nice English and Italian type food at reasonable prices. The sofa chairs towards the front of the restaurant are nice for a relaxed glass of wine or cocktail, and are equally well suited for an afternoon coffee. Browns isn't exceptional is any way but is pleasant.

Review of 171 Hair and Beauty
02 May 07, 21:41
Best wax in London!
171 is a beauty salon and hairdresser. I've never been to the hairdresser's, but I have heard good things from friends that have. The beauticians are fantastic - the bikini line and leg waxes they do are practically pain free (hard to believe I know, but true). I would never go anywhere else for a wax. The other treatments are extensive; from facials to eye lash perming. A particular favourite of mine is the relaxing back massage. Their prices are also reasonable, considering 171's central location.

Review of PizzaExpress
02 May 07, 19:47
Popular Pizza Place
Angel's Pizza Express is a very vibrant restaurant, with high ceilings and modern art on the walls. Of course it serves up the usual pizza you get in any Pizza Express, but it's always worth going for the dough balls and garlic butter.

Review of Afghan Kitchen
02 May 07, 11:39
Very good restaurant
Afghan Kitchen is a fantastic restaurant which lies inconspicuously in a tiny building in Angel. The set up is pretty simple , there are a few dishes on offer, for instance coconut chicken, which is served with rice. You eat on simple long benches with clean and modern surroundings. Afghan Kitchen is also pretty cheap.

Review of The Astoria
01 May 07, 10:46
Fantastic gay night
This is somewhat of an institution in London's gay scene. Every Saturday night thousands of people get dressed up and dance the night away at the impressive Astoria venue. Big name popstars like Kylie come on at about 1am, and it's always a fantastic show. A really fun and camp night out.
