Should be four stars...
I really like this place, with its retro decor and tasty (if slightly expensive) tapas, but I haven't been there recently because of the horrible smell of burning chip-fat which pervades the whole place and makes your clothes and hair stink. This isn't something we've really had to worry about much since the smoking ban, so maybe I just notice it more now, but it seems to have got worse recently, which is a real shame.
If they would sort out the ventilation in the kitchen I'd give it at least two more stars, because everything else they've got absolutely right.

Cheap as chips
It's not a pamper-me experience at Sajna, with its hustle and bustle and deli-counter tickets for the threading queue, but they are quick, professional and very, very cheap. £3 to have your eyebrows done is a giant bargain, as mentioned below, and I had a full leg, underarm and high bikini wax for under thirty quid. Recommended for those beauty 'running repairs' you don't want to have to spend a whole day on!

Balham bliss
For a real pampering session, this place is the absolute shizz. They really look after you here, going out of their way to make you feel comfortable and relaxed in a soothing and cosy environment. Whilst the upstairs hair salon is light and airy, there's a bit of a buddhist-temple vibe to the beauty salon area downstairs, which is softly decorated in browns and creams and pinks. When you arrive you change into a robe and slippers and wait for your therapist on one of the soft squishy couches, with a magazine to read and even a piece of fresh fruit to nibble if you fancy it. Treatment rooms are also a cut above, all dark colours and low lighting and nice drapey fabrics. The treatments themselves are excellent, all tailored to your personal requirements, even if you're just having the bog-standard cheapest facial on the menu, and carried out expertly and with a degree of care you don't often find, surprisingly. However, for me what really sets these guys apart is that when it's over they don't rush you out of the door - they just leave you in the room and you can get yourself together in your own time. So often I've been to places where the very second the relaxing treatment is over - BANG! - on goes the strip-light and you're ushered towards the cash desk faster than you can say 'down to earth with a bump'.
I've had my hair done here as well and they did a good job, but I just had a trim so not really in a position to refute any hidden-charge horror stories.
I go to imbs regularly now, and that's not something I've done anywhere else. My only criticism is the name, which makes it sound like a less classy joint than it actually is.
