Great curry
This is a very good curry house. It is family run by some good people, they take pride in their food and rightly so. I recommend the bhunas...excellent. It serves the best Indian food in New Malden.

Review of Tudor Williams

Good choice of Merchandise
Tudor Williams is smaller than some department stores but has a good variety of merchandise. On the ground floor there is a perfumery and cosmetic department. On the same floor they do some really lovely glass wear good if your looking for a gift that is a bit different. On the same floor they also do kitchen goods also bed linen and towels etc. There is also the luggage department and handbags and sell a small range of jewellery. On the first floor are ladies fashions they do casual wear and also something for that special occassion. You will also find the lingerie and nightwear on this floor. If you get peckish while shopping there is a restaurant where you can get a meal or just a snack and the people that serve you are very friendly. On the top floor is the furniture department which has a good range of sofas etc. They also stock beds . There is also a small haberdashery department on this floor which you dont find in many shops now. I would say that Tudor Williams is a good all round store..

Review of Bon Marche
12 May 08, 13:46
Good Value
Bon Marche is a store that provides good quality clothes at very reasonable prices. They have a good range and also provide items for that special occasion ! They also cater for larger sizes which not many other shops do. They do classic and more up to date items. Although alot of people would like to shop in this store I would say teenagers would possibly prefer to shop in more of a boutique style store. But all round I would say it has good fashion at exceptional prices and the staff are always helpful.

Review of Keys Residential

Quality estate agents
Keys Residential are a very professional and well run estate agent - I would recommend them to anybody for lettings (the capacity I have used them in). It is a company who build their reputation through mature and friendly staff, a perfect example of quality service attracting quality properties and tenants naturally. They charge no more than necessary for vetting and admin fees and do things very thoroughly in return for your business. Look them up if you're looking for a place to rent in New Malden or the surrounding areas!

Review of KFC New Malden Restaurant
03 May 08, 12:06
Fried Chicken
This KFC is quite small, and no different to any other really, in the 13 different herbs and spices on the menu. The staff have been a bit slow and dopey in the past when I've visited. What makes me laugh is the sepia pictures of happy children on the walls, eating chicken drumsticks which are the only objects in the picture in colour - quite surreal! There's nothing like luring in the young to a fried food addiction.

Review of Noodle Express

Great Asian Fusion Restaurant
This is really cheap and cheerful, great value for money. I like the open, airy and light space of this place. The people are as sunny as the restaurant, the service is quick and food delicious. You can choose between Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes, all really lovely. Go go go!

Review of Rock & Roe Fish & Chips

Lovely fish n chips
Really nice fish and chips here. The place has recently undergone a refurbishment (I think it is new management) though I must say I kind of preferred the old layout. Recommended for a nice take away supper though.

Review of Tesco Stores
19 Apr 08, 18:35
Hypermarket more like!
This Tesco is now so huge it is way more than a supermarket - hypermarket is probably more the word. Since it's first being built over two decades ago, it has had a few makeovers to increase capacity and ease of flow round the store. A few months ago was the biggest refit yet, with a whole new floor being added, and a moving travelator that magnetises your trolley wheels (very special!) up to the 2nd floor. Here lives a huge clothing range, alongside electrical goods and other sections - furnishings, indoor and outdoor party goods and who knows what else, it's so big I've not even explored the whole space yet.
If all you're looking for is food, it's all neatly laid out on the ground floor so you don't have to touch upstairs if there's no need. The annoying thing about constant store makeovers is that items keep being moved around, though the signposting is good in this Tesco. Plus, I doubt they'll be moving things again in the near future after this huge addition. They have also erected screens to advertise certain offers, and the ads are accompanied by tranquil music - especially in the most fraught aisles so as to soothe the nerves of people prone to trolley rage :)

Review of Pure Serenity

Good massage therapy
They do nice therapies here. I have had the lymphatic drainage massage - a very gentle one as it is designed to work on the delicate glands below the skin's surface - so relaxing. I've also had hopi ear candling by a very nice therapist there. They also do waxing and other beauty services. The place is very small (it is a converted Citizen's Advice Bureau) but it works.

Review of Royal Oak

Quite a nice boozer
Good roast lunches here, comfy seat, real 'pub' feel. It's big enough and far enough away from the high street to feel a bit more special than the other central drinking holes, which can attract the rougher of the locals. If you're going to pick one New Malden pub, try this one first.

Review of Bar Malden

Station Pub!
This pub could not be closer to New Malden rail station, so if you're desperate for a drink either just before or after a train journey, here your place! Also good for meeting people who need a location close to the station. It can get busy at all times of day, and on every other level (staff, prices) it's not much above or below the other locals.

Review of Puccino's
13 Apr 08, 19:05
Not brilliant food
Puccinos is a strange kind of place, style over content springs to mind. They have strange squiggly framed line drawings on the wall and weird messages on the crockery like 'please smash your cup down really hard here' on the saucer. So the theme is some bizarre modern art concept which is mildly interesting but it's a shame the food isn't up to much. The names of the sandwiches again sound quite cool e.g. a 'manhattan' panini, but the chicken is cubed and suspiciously bernard matthew like. If all you're after is a coffee - their lattes are quite nice.

Review of Malden Centre

Gym'll Fix It
The Kinetika gym at the Malden Centre has been recently refurbished. The machines are fairly good although the warm downs on the programmes are not as good as the ones on the old treadmills/cross trainers. The staff are amiable and helpful. It gets really busy in the evenings so try and go at other times! The pool is pretty good, warm and large, and there is a junior teaching pool. My mum has recently learned to swim there and she rates it - small groups so lots of attention. There are good workout classes - my favourite is body balance.
