Review of Yates's Wine Lodge

Not the best pub in Lewisham 2*

I dunno, I used to work here so perhaps my view may be a little tainted but they let girls work until 1pm and didn't even provide a cab home! Also the 'cocktails' they made up for a Valentine's Day special were rubbish - one was just vodka and lemonade with a umbrella - how is that a cocktail? Where's the third spirit? Haha. Other than that, standard Yates' pub really, they are uninspirational at the best of times. Always busy though, if that's all you're looking for.

Review of Reflex The 80's Bar

happy bar 3*

I really liked the fountain too - I remember stepping in it once when very drunk and had to go home with one wet foot. And yes, I would have said this bar is more known for the gay vibe than it being an 80's bar. It's a good place for a fun night out.

Review of Berties Wine Bar

20 May 08, 18:00

Underground bar 3*

Yes Bertie's is always very busy. The location is very central, it is a small lower level bar behind KFC on the High Street. It's a very popular place to drink for teens-twenty year olds. Not bad at all as wine bars go.

Review of All Bar One

27 Apr 08, 13:30

Very central and bustling 3*

This is a really popular and crowded branch of the chain as it's situated right on Leicester Square, but if you do manage to get a seat outside in the summer, it's a nice place to hang out and soak up the atmosphere. The food is good, as at most All Bar Ones, and the tapas are a decent size. Go as early as you can to get a seat, either inside or out!

Review of The Fighting Cocks

Outside The Box on Mondays 5*

I forgot to mention the comedy club here at the Cocks on a Monday night - which is completely brilliant and always worth a visit. They have had some big names down there of late - Russell Brand, Frank Skinner and Stephen Merchant. Other names like Lee Mack and Russell Howard gig there fairly regularly. Also commendable are their regulars who return time and again to give the audience a great night of new material. The compere Maff is a straight talking funnyman in his own right and has grown the club fantastically well since it began there a few years ago...many nights you have to book in advance for, or you simply won't get in. So it is highly advised to get on their mailing list. And you need to go every week really - as the biggest names often pop up on the night unannounced! A couple of beers at this fresh Monday comedy night is perfect to counteract those back to work blues and to ease you into the rest of the week.

Review of Pitcher and Piano

S'ok 3*

This is not too bad for a standard P&P. The drinks are of the usual fine range and the venue is of the standard large, spacious feel. Fine for a visit if you know the format and are after what you are familiar with, though there are plenty more bars in the vicinity with more character...

Review of The Watershed Bar

Live Venue 4*

This is a basement bar at the end of Wimbledon Broadway, an excellent venue for comedy and live acts. It is deceivingly spacious inside, with two large rooms and interjoining spaces to hang out. Go and check it out!

Nice atmosphere 3*

I agree with Alina G, this is certainly in line with the brand - in that the venue is nice and spacious, clean and friendly. You know where you are and what you're in for - good wine and great bar food. This venue is a huge converted bank, conveniently situated at the bottom of Wimbledon HIll, between the village and the Broadway.

Review of Rumours

Nice bar 4*

Rumours is probably the bar of choice on Worcester Park high street. It is very civilised, with a nice crowd and good drink selection. Worth the walk up the hill!

Best pub in Kingston 4*

The Fighting Cocks is a great rocker's pub, when you first step in and see all the leather and piercings it feels like an exclusive joint but they are really friendly staff, mostly Aussies, and the people who drink there are cool too. If you like guitar music more than dance it's the best bet for you in Kingston!
