Review of Tesco Stores
15 May 08, 21:02
Tesco, Wells
My wife, is against transporting foods from different countries to the U.K, if the produce can be grown in Britain, so as you can guess, Teso isn't exactly one of her favourite shops. Although, the staff are friendly (with a few exceptions) and there are plenty of tills, so the waiting time is usually at a minimum. They have recently installed the "do-it-yourself" checkouts, which are slightly annoying, because everytime you want to purchase a fruit or vegetable, you have to ask for assistance. Overall, it is an ok shop, but don't expect too much!

Review of Sainsburys

Sainsburys, Street
The other day, I just popped into the petrol station with my daughter to buy a few ice lollies and it took her fifteen minutes to purchase them, as one of the tills had broken. However, the supermarket itself is fine and it iss a lot better than our local tesco.

Review of Superdrung

Superdrug, Wells
A good place for toiletries for holidays-small pots of shampoo, deodorant and body wash. However, I have not always had good experience with the staff. My children like to try on the make-up, and they get stressed out. The prices are fairly reasonable, although some of their own products are a bit tacky. Overall, a good shop but needs updating!

Review of Insport

This shop is great for shool trainers. They pick the best of each brand and although sometimes a little pricey, always worth it. They also stock sports clothing and brands such as O'neill, Ripcurl and Roxy. The staff are helpful and if they do not have the product you are looking for, they can usually order it in from a different shop.

Review of Wells Leisure Centre

Wells Leisure Centre
Many activities happen here, from a childrens swimming club to pool pilates. The complex includes a gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi and a cafe. My daughter goes to swimming classes there and from what i've heard it all goes swimmingly (!). However, it is always too hot in there and sometimes slightly unclean.

Review of Maddie Brown

Maddy Brown, Wells
My Wife loves this place. It sells lots of interior design items, but also stocks a few big brands, such as a range of Cath Kidston products. There is a big range of crockery and candles. You can also find gifts for children, as within the Cath Kidston products, there are purses and passport holders. A great place for presents for teachers at the end of term aswell! Staff are always friendly, however the gift wrapping isn't really up to scratch!

Review of Wells Library

Wells Library
This library is run by the Somerset County Council and I never fail to find a book I need! The staff are friendly, but as expected and the customers are always happy to help you.

Review of Bastins

(This shop is now called Zona!) A good place for 39p birthday cards and tacky notebooks! This is good, for very last minute things (and if you have a low budget!). However, this is what is expected of it. It is a well run business and the staff are reasonably helpful.

Review of Wells Film Centre

Wells Film Centre
A great family cinema, showing all the recent releases. My children love this place, because they are able to go there with their friends and can watch a film they have really wanted to see. Most of the time the staff are friendly, however I have experienced a few incidents in my time! Overall, this is a great place in a perfect location that will suit everyone.

Review of Da Luciano Pizza Bar

Da Luciano Pizza Bar
This is a place with genuine Italian charm. Real food made in front of your eyes, run by a typical Italian family. In Da Luciano's, the food is cracking, service absolutely five star and you will always find a friendly face in there! The prices are very reasonable and you can order different portion sizes, which is great if you have children with a small appetite! Across the road, there is an ice cream bar, run by the same people which serves the best ice-cream around. This is definitely my all time number 1!
