Review of Restaurant Bar A Jee

Bar A Jee 4*

Great Indian restaurant located on Broad Street and overlooking the canal system. Good food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Well worth a visit with friends or work colleagues or just as a couple.

Review of Flapper & Firkin

Flapper Birmingham 4*

Many a local band have played here and gone on to great things. It's a good student pub and prelude to a night at Snobs, but has quiz nights and being by the canalside is great for a drink outside. There's a separate live venue downstairs, usually a DJ upstairs and also a jukebox with all the indie classics.

Review of The Malt House

11 Apr 08, 19:41

Malt House Birmingham 4*

Overlooking the main interchange of the Birmingham Canal in the city this is a great pre-drinks pub for anyone visiting the NIA opposite or the ICC. Just a short walk from the Sea life centre and Brindley Place it's also good for families in the daytime. With occasional live music and a great terrace this place was good enough for Bill Clinton on his G8 Visit to the city so it will be good enough for you !

Review of Celebrity Balti

11 Apr 08, 19:37

Celebrity Balti 2*

After all the hype and reviews I was quite disappointed by Celebrity Balti. The food was watery and with little flavour. The decor is old and needs a complete refurbishment. It's a shame that a place of good reputation didn't live up to what I expected.

Review of Apple Store UK

Apple Store Birmingham 5*

A great addition to the Bullring. Fantastic products, well trained, polite friendly staff. Always happy to help or chat and just a great ethos to the place. Top marks.

Review of Tesco Metro

11 Apr 08, 19:31

Tesco New Street 2*

Conviently located on New Street and by the side entrance of the train station this should be a great store. Unfortunatly the due level means sometimes it is very difficult to find items. Also after 6pm it gets very busy with people shopping after work which seems to take the staff by surprise. Although it is open till late much of the stock is gone by this time, especially fruit and salad is of very limited choice at the best of times. There is also a habit of giving you far too many bags for the items you have and the queues can get quite long.

Review of Tesco Stores

11 Apr 08, 19:28

Tesco Ladywood Middleway 2*

One of the biggest Tesco stores within the city but not one of the best. Even after a re-design this L shaped store is so difficult to navigate. On Sundays the Broad Street entrance is shut so for car owners this is fine but for others it's a pain. The staff are reluctant to help (some even won't handle your items or pack bags in the smaller checkout area, if and when this is open). Not a great store but lack of choice and cheap prices still makes it busy, sometimes annoyingly.

Review of Mackenzie's Bar & Dining Room

11 Apr 08, 19:20

MacKenzies 5*

This is a fantastic restaurant at the top of Corporation Street. Due to it's location it isn't always people's first choice which is a shame but also means that for those in the know this is a great place to try and out and not worry about it being overcrowded. Delicious food and great staff.

Review of Rococo Lounge

11 Apr 08, 19:15

Rococo 4*

A nice bar which is something a little bit different on Broad Street. Good range of drinks and cocktails and with a lot of different music, a DJ and an open dance floor it's a good place to check out and during the summer, sit outside on the terrace and watch Broad Street's nightlife in full glory.

Review of Nando's Chickenland

11 Apr 08, 19:11

Nandos Birmingham 4*

The feel of Nandos is definetly better than that other chicken restaurants and the three types of sauce on the chicken means that you can be experimental with the hotness. Good food and reasonable service.
