Review of Warwick Castle

Warwick Castle 5*

A great place for a famly day out with lots of rooms to explore. There are re-enactments, staff in period costumes and live events throughout the year. One of the best times to come is at Christmas where you are guaranteed a wonderfully festive time.

Review of The Goose At The Ovt

12 Apr 08, 15:03

The Goose 2*

This has been re-kitted out and isn't quite the old dark pub it once was but it still doesn't have the atmosphere of a great place. Still likely to be full of older guys sipping their ale in the daytime with a sprinkling if students in the evenings.

Review of Gun Barrel It's A Scream

12 Apr 08, 14:58

Gun Barrells 3*

This is the yellow pub just down from Birmingham University on the Bristol Road. It's a great student pub with discount drinks (with a special student card) but it is open to non students as well but prepare to feel a little old if you're not at Uni ! It's a lively atmosphere with good music on the jukebox and a number of games to play too.

Review of Hogshead

12 Apr 08, 14:51

Hogshead, Solihull 4*

Quite a modern chain pub in Solihull with good food and nice surrondings. The atmosphere is generally good and the staff are keen and friendly. This tends to attract younger people and is a fun lively place to go to.

Review of Boat Inn

12 Apr 08, 14:48

The Boat Inn 4*

A great little pub with lots of local character in the village of Catherine-de-Barnes in between Hampton In Arden and Solihull. Situated by the riverside and with a large garden area this is a great place to go. Inside there's traditional decor, a friendly team of staff and great pub food and drink.

Review of Wetherspoons

12 Apr 08, 14:22

Wetherspoons, Paradise Forum 4*

A fairly small but recently refurbished Wetherspoons set in the ever changing Paradise Forum. Child friendly in the daytimes but busy in the early evenings and weekends. Food is reasonably priced and you can get your fix of news from Sky whilst you wait. You do feel a little like you are being watched though as passers by continue to walk through the complex.

Review of Revolution Bar

12 Apr 08, 14:12

Revolution, Broad Steet 4*

A very stylish venue at the top end of Broad Street with every possible Vodka you could imagine and a few high strength ones too if you are brave ! The music is usually very dance/r'n'b orientated in the evenings and it does fill up quite quickly at the weekends. There is a dance floor at the back and upstairs there is a separate bar with comfy sofas and seats which can also be hired out with a projector screen there too.

Review of Sweet Tooth

12 Apr 08, 14:06

Sweet Tooth, Tettenhall Road 4*

Every kind of sweet you can imagine from your childhood, and some you may never have seen. A great selection of sweets and confectionary to take you back to your youth, even with the old style jars, and some luxury chocolates and liquers for those special treats. Quite a small shop but jam packed with sweet goodies.

Review of Beacon FM Wabc Radio

12 Apr 08, 14:02

Beacon Radio 5*

Located in Wolverhampton and broadcasting to the West Midlands and Shropshire this is one of the original Commercial Radio Stations playing Contemporary Hit Music with local news, travel and informative chat. It competes in a crowded radio market but is a good choice for music in the area.

Review of St Pauls Cars

12 Apr 08, 11:50

St.Paul's Taxis Birmingham 5*

This is usually my first choice for booking a taxi in Birmingham. They are extremely reliable, arrive in minutes or on time if you have booked in advance and are a reasonable price. I have never had a problem with them and cannot recommend them highly enough.
