Review of Harvey Nichols

Harvey Nicholls, The Mailbox 4*

This is a good store for the latest and most expensive fashions but the prices may be a lot out of people's ranges. If you want to treat yourself or a looking for a stylish expensive present then this could be a place to come but for your average person it may be wiser to investigate some of the other stores in Birmingham.

Review of Bar Risa

12 Apr 08, 11:43

Risa, Broad Street 4*

This is a good place of you have a group of people with varying tastes in music and you can't agree on a place to go. It's got several bars and different styles of music so there's enough to please everyone but it does get very busy towards the end of the night. You also get the use of the main dance floor area after the Jongleurs comedy club closes and there's a chill out area too so it's a good settlement to a place to please everyone.

Review of The Glee Club

12 Apr 08, 11:39

Glee Club, Birmingham 4*

The Glee Club in the Arcadian is quite a small, intimate venue but with the calibre of Nationally known comedians it's a jewel in the crown for Birmingham. You will probably have to book early to avoid disappointment and get a good seat though. The bar area is quite small when it comes to getting your drinks during a break in performance but if you want to see some of today's best comedians locally then this is a place you need to come.

Review of Jongleurs

12 Apr 08, 11:37

Jongleurs, Broad Street 5*

Part of the Risa building this is a great place to see rising comedy stars and big name comedians doing their UK Tours. You can have a meal and order drinks between performances and it's a good sized room. You also get free entry to the club afterwards when the comedy finishes so this is a great way to finish off the night and get some good laughs, a nice meal and a chance to dance.

Review of Grosvenor Casino

12 Apr 08, 11:34

Grosvenor Casino, Broad Street 4*

The great thing is that you can be a member within minutes and if there's a group of you this is somewhere different to spend an hour or two just watching the activities or trying your luck at blackjack, poker or a shot at roulette. It's a fair sized casino and quite roomy with a pletharo of activities. It's not somewhere you would want to spend all day but is a good break from the usual bars and clubs on Broad Street.

Review of Thai Edge

12 Apr 08, 11:07

Thai Edge, Brindley Place 5*

A really nice restaurant for Thai food just off Broad Street in Brindley Place. The staff wear traditional clothing and are very pleasant. The food is delicious and the surrondings are really warm and inviting. If you have never tried Thai food before or if you want something a little different this is somewhere you should visit.

Review of Richer Sounds

12 Apr 08, 11:02

Richer Sounds, Birmingham 5*

A great place for cheap, good quality branded named electricals. If you are a Hi-fi fanatic or buying a new piece of kit this should be on your list of places to visit. There's some great offers in their catalogue but because of the discounts sometimes the item you want has sold out or is on order. That aside this still has to be worth checking out.

Review of Nostalgia & Comics

12 Apr 08, 11:00

Nostalgia & Comics, Birmingham 5*

One of the best places to go for comic book fans or those into cult TV or sci-fi memorabilia. This has been a well known place for American imports for a couple of decades and is still a good place to go for that extra gift or something a little different from the norm.

Review of Old Orleans

12 Apr 08, 10:38

Old Orleans, Broad Street 5*

Great food and a friendly atmosphere in this Broad Street location. It's something a little different and with a good sized seating area outdoors is nice for catching a few rays in the summer. Very close to a lots of City Centre hotels and bars so if you are a visitor to the city then it makes a good choice to visit here.

Review of The Brasshouse

12 Apr 08, 10:36

Brasshouse Birmingham 5*

Just on the corner of Broad Street and somewhere in between traditional pub and modern bar this a nice place to go for a quiet drink. The restaurant area also has a Carvary on Sundays which is always difficult to find in other city centre locations.
