IMAX Birmingham 
You can't really get bigger or better than an IMAX for razor sharp amazing pictures on a huge screen. Located at Millenium Point this is a great one to take the kids although there is a limited choice of films.

Quite an old cinema that doesn't really stand up to today's standards. The screens are smaller than some of the multiplexes and not all seating is great. Also a big hang out for kids and consequent noise and disturbance. Not my first choice at all.

Cineworld Broad Street 
Now part of the cineworld group, this 9 screen modern cinema is one of my favourites to catch the latest flicks. Good seating, big screens and great sound. The prices can vary through the week but there are discounts for weekends and early showings which can beat that Friday night rush.
