Tesco 
This is the biggest Tesco in the Brighton and Hove area but it's not one of my favourite one's in the country. I often stop here on my way home from work. Sometimes the fresh produce section is badly stocked. There aren't many baskets and they are all a bit old and skanky. The hot food from the deli has always run out by about half 5. I also don't like the big self checkouts.. ...not the basket ones... ...you have to send all your stuff off into the distance and pay before packing or pack it all and then leave it to go back and pay. Having said all of that this shop does have everything you need from a supermarket. The car park can be a nightmare with the entry and exit barriers.. ...you can always get out with the ticket regardless of whether you get it hole punched or pay or not. It really annoys me when the entry barrier is down causing queues but the exit one is up.

Does the job
Another one of Brighton's seemingly infinite number of italian restaurants. This one is very cheap and the restaurant itself is very nice. There's good choice on the menu. The problem I've experienced here on every occasion is that you feel rushed to sit, eat, pay, go. So with that in mind, it's good for a quick snack during a days shopping but find somewhere better for an evening meal with friends or a date.

These are not the best pizzas in the world but the brilliant thing is you get 2 for the price of one. All the time. In a good location if you've had a night on the juice somewhere along the seafront or even West Street. Can be a long wait sometimes and also quite unpleasant when it's busy and full of rowdy drunks.

People watching hotspot
The food at this place isn't the finest cuisine, but as the other reviews have mentioned, it's location makes up for this. The outside balcony is a prime people watching spot. You can see right the way along kensington gardens... ..particularly good on a busy weekend. There is a wide range of food on offer but it's not brilliant.

Good for unique gifts 
This shop is always a winner when it comes to buying presents for my Mum or sister. They sell loads of really cool bits and pieces that you don't find everywhere else. Lots of stationery and bits like that. Good greetings cards. Excellent arty books. A whole range of Moomin merchandise. Pop in for a browse.

Great
One of the best take away pizza shops in Brighton. Fast delivery, always piping hot and very tasty. The staff are all really nice.. ...I often pop in on the way home after a night out as they're open really late on the weekend. Sometimes I go in and order it and they will bring it to my house when it's ready so I don't have to hang around. One thing to watch out for are their offers... ..you can usually save money or get heaps more food for it but they're not always obvious or very well publicised.

Good for big mixed group
I've had a mixture of experiences in this bar but overall it does the job... ..especially good if there's a big group of you and it's quite a mixed bunch. Not a good place for a date or even catching up with a friend...gets really noisy when busy. They also have this bizzare rule that you're not allowed to stand up in the area where there's tables. The staff are all really good though; fast, polite service. During the week they have some decent offers on wine but it is quite pricey for what it is at the weekends.

Bad 
The bar at this place is one thing.. ...untidy, slow service and overpriced. The food is even worse. I went here for a friend's brithday a few years ago and it was a disaster. The vegetarian in our group got served the meat version of her starter, most of us had burgers for our main course, mine was under cooked and cold and the birthday girl's had a hair in it. Avoid.

Great for a snack
I love this little place. Good to eat in or take away. They serve an excellent range of sandwiches and the like, all freshly prepared before your eyes by the cheerful staff. Try the chocolate muffins as well...mmmm!

Recent Face-lift
This store has recently been revamped.. ..it's now got more gadgets and stuff along with all the usual CDs and DVDs. There's also a hub of computers which you can use for free to go on the internet and buy stuff which isn't in the store. Most things you will find cheaper on the internet but occasionally there are some good offers. My only gripe with this shop is that twice since christmas they've forgotte to deactivate security tags on stuff I've bought and made me look like a shoplifter.
