Review of Princess Louise

22 Aug 07, 21:30

Proper old boozer 4*

There are a string of Sam Smith-owned pubs in London, such as The Chandos, The Angel and Blue Posts - and the Princess Louise is another. This is a pub that effectively harks back to a bygone era - flowery wallpaper; lots of dark wood and glass panels; cheap beer (Sam Smith's and Ayingerbrau) and unreconstructed food menu. For all that, though, it works and suits this grand old building. It's the kind of pub that won't please your lovers of All Bar Ones and Slug & Lettuces, but anyone who appreciates a good atmosphere, great beer and a good place for a night out
