I once treated an ex girlfriend....

To a spar weekend. She got all excited looking forward to her mud packs and reflexology treatments.

She was mighty dissapointed when I took her to the spar @ Brindley place. Daft tart. It's the best spar in town!! Hot pies and a great selection of booze and iced creams. however the booze can be expensive.

Really friendly staff as well!!

N.B - the girl in question dumped me after this spar weekend.

Park in the pink

Park at the top, and see the stunning views of the city!!

And if you're proper thick, each floor is COLOUR CODED!!! So if you can't count you don't have to furrow your brow in confusion, just remember PINK.

All this luxury doesn't come cheap - it's a ripoff. But it is in a great location and your car will be safe.

An amazing bar.....

but if you want to visit it, you'll be out of luck. It went bust 6 months ago.

It has now been replaced by 'Foggs' bar where you can go 'around the world in 80 dishes'.

For a laugh why not go to foggs and call it ipanema all night. When someone says why are you doing it, say you don't like change.

I don't get out much.

Upstairs for drinking....

is true here. Downstairs is typical Lloyds bar, but upstairs you could be forgiven you were in the living room. Except you don't need a mortgage for a bevvie.

What a venue

A stunning place to drink a proper pint. It's like being in the theatre darling.

Good choice of ales in a great location.

A good place to pull a city type as well. Just make sure you wear a cheap suit and look like a reject from the apprentice.....

I never go higher than a medium...

I must be a chicken. A good nando's, and not as busy as the one in the bullring.

Staff are good and it's handy for broad street. TIP - if you're going to the NIA walk up here for some tea - Brindley place, ICC are always too busy, but nando's escapes the queues.

A nando's story......

My mate nearly had a fight with the manager at the nando's in Cardiff because he ordered a corn on the cob, but, with his chicken dinner came a cob of bread. It all went off.

THE BEST

Thai green curry this side of Bangkok. It is amazing. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

In fact, if you're as tight as a ducks arse go at lunchtime - they do 2 courses for £8! And free thai crackers on the table as well.

A joyous restaurant. Quality throughout.

I bet

you will snigger at the name. But there is more to it than a double entendre.

A great selection of HEALTHY juices. My favourites are the Berry booster and the energizer. A guaranteed way to 5 a day.

and block your arteries! And be mezmerized as you can watch them be made!!! More sugar in them than a Brazilian sugar beet plantation. Give them to your kids and get no peace!

If you like do-nuts you will go nuts for KK. hahahahaahhaahahahah.

inner city baltis....

generally need a kick in the bahji's but the barajee is different.

Great food (best chicken pathia in town) and a stunning view! One side the you can see the delightful gas street basin and the other side broad street!! The last Saturday I was in there we left our table and were joined by the waiting staff watching a fight on the street.

Better than a wet towel for post meal satisfaction....

Go before lunch.....

Seriously. Do it. The normal menu is poor, but it is saved by the brilliant breakfasts!!

Go for the le petit dejuneur anglais. Most fryups are more greasy than an adolesents skin but here they are devine. Also they have a great selection of coffees.

Perfect for breakfasts, avoid any other part of the day

you're a group of lads?

Go to the living room and you won't even get into the lobby!! Guaranteed at the weekend it is a couples/girls only policy which is annoying.

However if you manage to get in you'll be treated to an okay bar which has a really good cocktail menu. It does get crowded at weekends. But not with groups of lads.......

A TRUE FACT

When Justin Timberlake was playing the NIA, he drank at the tap at the end of his show. Oh yes. ITS TRUE.

And it certainly ain't Hollywood.

Grotty decor, poor layout, odd clientele. But one of the best bars in Birmingham. It's hard to describe it's unique charm but it is definitely worth a visit.

Especially as it's open 'til it gets light. (even in winter)

eat skippy

For a big bar the food is surprisingly good.Order a kangaroo burger, they're great.

Nightlife is awesome. My mate JJ is the DJ so I can't say anything else.....

Get there for about 11.30, and stay til the cleaners turn up. It's a quality night.

Friendly bar staff as well, usually hot as well as they've got that aussie charm.....

Great weekend bar. Probably the best for good looking people in BP.

Drink choice is good, does take a while to be served at the weekend.

The only drawback is the food isn't that great. I had a pork sandwich once, it was like eating a foot.

Play whats your flavour......

A game invented by a friend of mine this:

Order a random stick of 12 vodkas. (cost about £12) Then take it in turns to down a shot and then announce the flavour, whilst the rest of the party sing 'whats your flavour' by rubber faced singer Craig David.

Revolution is proper bo. Wouldn't got that often though.....

Review of The Sports Cafe

Head downstairs...

Go to the sports cafe, and head straight downstairs. There's hundreds of pool tables!!

I like heading there before a night out for a few frames of pool, I tend not to go there for a drink and a dance.

*MONEY SAVING TIP!!!!! -

Rather than paying £1 a game of pool, ask behind the bar for a 1 hour token - its only £5!!!

come for the beer,

stay for the nuts! Whatever you drink, have the pistachio nuts - awesome!!!!

Great selection of beer - especially when they do their 'speciality' beer month. cherry beer is the future.
