Fantastic!
I really enjoyed this place. Plenty to entertain adults as well as children. A truly good day out. Set over 3 floors the exhibits cover everything from the history of birmingham, how the body works, recycling and space and the future. (And lots more!)
If you have time see a show at the planetarium or watch a movie at the IMAX.

Review of Marks & Spencer

Great for a quick lunch
Lots of choice in this marks and spencers 'simply food'.
It is situated just opposite Snow Hill station so is perfect if you need to grab food on the go or if you have time you can relax nearby, outside the cathedral.
I love this place just because of the amount of choice and food available. Even if you don't manage to escape the office until 3pm for a break....there are still products on the shelves!
For the health concious there is also a good range of salads, wraps and sushi.

Review of Shogun
08 May 08, 16:38
Great Food, Great Price
I have been a couple of times now and always wonder why I don't go back more often!
Located on the 3rd Floor of the Mailbox, this resaurant is truely authentic Japanese. The highlight? All you can eat sushi!
For £10 you can sit town and pick as many plates off the moving table centre as you like.
You can find all types of sushi here. Just watch out for the hidden Wasabi as it can catch you out if you are not expecting it!
This place is great for a sushi feast or for a quick dinner if you want healthy in a hurry, simply grab your chopsticks and off you go.

Review of Sampan Takeaway
25 Apr 08, 16:24
The best takeaway ever!
Quite honestly some of the best take away I have eaten.
I reccomend it all.
The prices are fair and as aways, very generous.
They don't do delivery however you can call ahead and pre order.

Review of Lincoln Cathedral
25 Apr 08, 14:42
Lincoln Cathedral
Lincoln has the 3rd biggest Cathedral in the country behind Westminster and York and really is beautiful.
Inside there are often art exhibts on display as well as plenty of other bits of its long history.
It's also worth spending time looking at the front archetecture. Can you spot the famous Lincoln Imp?

Chimichanga
This place makes a real change.
Chimichanga serves a full range of authentic mexican food and its all delicious. Best washed down with a good margarita!
A little expensive but certainly worth it.
The restaurant is large with plenty of tables to accomodate groups of all sizes.
a lovely experience. Great for a meal with a partner.

Review of Tootsies

Great service!
A nicer version of a burger bar.....
.......But take an appetite as the portions are huge! The food here is cooked fresh and of great quality.
The building is modern and light and attracts both students and families.
I visited for a celebration meal and the service was excellent and plenty of ballons had been placed around the table as a special touch.
Most recommended.

Review of Steep Hill Wines

Steep Hill Wines
A lovely range of wines and champagne.
There are bottles to suit all budgets and they also offer beautifully presented gift bottles.
This is a really lovely little shop and worth a visit if you enjoy the odd glass or two of wine.

Review of Brent Cross Shopping Centre
25 Apr 08, 11:50
A lovely shopping experience out of the city
My family and I often park here before heading into the city. But you can easily spend the day.
They have a huge range of shops, a lovely food hall and plenty of free car parking.
It can get busy but being open until late gives flexability, especially at weekends.
The shops are all you usual high street chains but within a great setting just off the M1.

Review of Ethos Urban

Ethos
This is a wonderful place to buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers that are sure to impress your other half or make your mum very happy.
I would also agree with a previous reviewer. The flowers are not expensive and wondrfully arranged.
The shop also stocks a good range of greetings card which are perfect for that last minute buy.

Review of Ask Restaurants
24 Apr 08, 17:17
By far the best restaurant
I know Ask is a chain but the food here is always good quality.
This is a relatively new restaurant and is perched at the edge of the harbour. Often allowing you to watch the fishing boats return with there days catch.
It is clean and modern and has a good size upstairs, and for summer a decked area.
If you do try this place, and it is lovely for a romantic meal, the honeycomb cheesecake it not to be missed!

Review of Winkin Willy's
24 Apr 08, 17:12
Classic Seaside Food
Fish and Chips from Winkin Willy's are part of the british seaside experience.
Lovely food which is best eaten with a wood fork on a nearby bench.
Or for the truly authentic experience move closer to the beach for the added crunch of sand!!
You really can't beat it!
This is a good size place and the queue moves quickly. As must try when you come to Scarborough.

Review of Tame Otter
24 Apr 08, 16:58
Tame Otter
This is the best place to spend a chilled out summer evening.
Be warned though...it gets busy quickly!
The food is lovely, the staff usually friendly and it has a good size beer garden and car park which also fills up fast.
My advise it to get here early and spend a while! (Maybe take a taxi and enjoy a few drinks!)

Review of Sabai - Sabai
24 Apr 08, 15:51
Book in advance!
This is the smallest restaurant in Moseley village but by far the best!
I went without pre booking and my partner and I were told we could have a table for 45 minutes.
This was enough time to enjoy the wonderful food in the cosy setting.
Service was fast and friendly.
Overall a great experience. Hopefully next time I will have time for a starter!

Review of PizzaExpress
24 Apr 08, 15:42
Mmmmm!
A truly great restaurant.
I have been here on the busiest of nights and the staff are still friendly and the food of excellent quality.
I would not say this is an expensive as a restaurant as most courses are around £8.
It is certainly worth ordering the dough balls to start and aving room for cheesecake!
There is plenty of space as the restaurant covers two floors and with big open kitchens you know nothing funny is being done to your food!

Review of The Living Room
24 Apr 08, 15:28
The Living Room
A lovely menu and a mind blowing choice of cocktails.
This is well worth a visit as the food was wonderful. I ordered the Sea bass and is was cooked to perfection.
If cocktails are your thing this is also the place for you. The do everything from a classic cosmo or martini to those featuring the most bizarre combinations.
I would agree with previous reviewers that the service isn't wonderful but hopefully this will improve after a few more reviews!

Review of Yo! Sushi
24 Apr 08, 15:12
Yum!
This is one of those places to see and be seen.
In true style you choose your dishes as they rotate round the table. each one is priced according to what is in it and is colour coded to make it easier to add up.
If you love Sushi this place is a must.

Review of Bullring Shopping Centre
24 Apr 08, 13:26
Check out the markets!
Well I wasn't prepared for the smell when I opened the doors to the meat and fish market. The odor of the north sea hits you immediately - that's no bad thing. It just shows how fresh everything actually is. I was amazed to see the range of meat/fish on offer and the prices were amazing. They can't throw it at you quick enough. With the current hike in prices on the high street, believe me this is the new way to get your meat for cheap - just make sure you've got plenty of freezer space!

Review of Slug And Lettuce
22 Apr 08, 17:11
Its back!
For a while the Slug and Lettuce resided alongside the brayford and I was very sorry to see it go.
But its back! And has a great position at the top of the high street. The food is always good and this is certainly one of the nicer places to enjoy a drink in Lincoln.

Review of Paperchase
22 Apr 08, 16:53
Its a cult
Back in my uni days all the cool kids had paperchase stationary.
It really is above its competition in terms of quality and value for money.
Their covent garden shop stocks an excellent range but also look out for it across the country as various concessions within department stores.
I love their greetings cards and wrapping paper for when you really want to show someone you have made an effort.

Review of Lush
22 Apr 08, 16:49
Totally Lush!
If you have never bought anything from Lush you really are missing out.
All their products use fresh ingredients, very little chemicals and are all made by hand.
Try one of their famous bath bombs and if you are a sensitive type like myself noting feels more wonderful on your skin than the the moisurisers in Butterball.
Oh....and they do lovely gift boxes! Perfect for a present.

Review of Shimla Pinks
22 Apr 08, 16:25
Great food!
Quite honestly one of the best curry's I have eaten.
The dish I ordered was full of flavour with a great taste. Not just 'Hot' like many I have eaten elsewhere.
It is much more expensive than other curry options in the city but great for special occasions.
Give it a go, I don't think you will be dissapointed!

Review of San Carlo
22 Apr 08, 16:17
Yum!
I love this place. I have only eaten here once to date but the food was great.
Slightly more expensive than the other Italian restaurant chains however well worth it. There is a good range of dishes to choose from on the menu and the portion sizes are perfect.
The decor (lots of plants and lots of green) also takes you away from birmingham. Perfect for a romantic dinner.

Review of Electric Cinema
21 Apr 08, 17:30
Part of Birmingham's History
A truly wonderful cinema not to be missed.
The films they show are a mix of mainstream and independent films as well as few classics.
If you have the cash get a sofa seat for £12. This gives you a lovely comfy seat and the text waitress service option.
They have a good bar if you fancy a beer, glass of wine while you relax infront of the film.
Or you can even get a nice cup of a tea and a slice of cake...heaven!

Review of Selfridges
21 Apr 08, 17:05
In a hurry! This is a one stop shop!
If you only have your lunch hour to find the perfect outfit for your night out I reccomend House of Fraser.
Quicker than walking the entire Bullring, House of Fraser has a good range of concessions within a matter of metres. These include Oasis, Mango and Warehouse. And if your budget with stretch, Miss Sixty and Diesel.

Review of La Plancha
18 Apr 08, 16:24
Great Tapas AND Cocktails
Although I feel that La Plancha is a little over priced for its portion size the food is lovely.
Expect to pay £4.50 per dish and a little more for some of the king prawn dishes.
You need about 6 dishes per couple so the price does soon add up. However the choice is excellent. Be sure to check out the specials board which gives even more choice.
La Plancha also has a large range of cocktails also priced around £5 which are the perfect addition to dinner.
The restaurant upstairs does get busy at weekends so booking is advisable but the bar downstairs has a relaxed atmosphere and has few tables where you can also order your food and drinks.

Review of Dogma Bar
18 Apr 08, 15:52
The best bar in Lincoln!
For a fabulous cocktail or food with friends there really is no better place in Lincoln.
The prices are around £5 for a cocktail but its worth it! Look out for the various drinks offers though as a great way to save some money.
There is a great choice of sandwichs and main meals as well as range of plates designed for sharing. I have yet to make it to dessert but there is plenty of choice!
The staff are friendly and the service prompt.
Overall a great experience.

Review of Eat
17 Apr 08, 16:20
Try the soup!
Eat Soup has become something of a cult within our office and Chicken Pot Pie day is not to be missed!
Fresh and filling and priced around £3 it makes an excellent lunch option. (And you can check the weeks menu online!)
Soup aside, eat also does a great range of sandwichs, baguettes and my favourite...sushi.
Something for everyone here.

Review of Goose At The Fighting Cocks
17 Apr 08, 16:00
Comfortable, Cosy and Effortlessly Cool!
This pub was one of the reasons I moved to Moseley! From my very first evening spent relaxing over a bottle of wine there with friends, I knew it was my kind of place!
It has a huge drinks menu including some more unusual fruit beers and plenty to offer the designated driver.
Also look out for their tempting food menu. However.....be warned, the food can be a bit hit and miss. Great for dinner with a perfectly cooked half roast chicken costing a reasonable £8.50, but on one occasion I was served some rather plastic looking and tasting scrambled eggs as part of a full english breakfast.
Despite this I would still encourage you to give it a try as it's the perfect place for an afterwork drink with friends. Weekend are usually busy with the atmosphere buzzing and tables disappear fast, but the garden at the rear provides extra space complete with patio heaters.

Review of Cafe Gusto
17 Apr 08, 15:38
Lovely Lunches!
Want your lunch made the way you like it? Cafe Gusto is the place for you!
They have a huge selection of fillings to choose from which can be made into a sandwhich, baguette, wrap, bagel, pannini or put on a baked potato!
Your lunch made your way....delicious!
The only problem I have with Cafe Gusto is trying to avoid the temptation of the lovely looking cakes and sweet treats positioned just within reach on the till!
