Review of Ask Restaurants

By far the best restaurant
I know Ask is a chain but the food here is always good quality.
This is a relatively new restaurant and is perched at the edge of the harbour. Often allowing you to watch the fishing boats return with there days catch.
It is clean and modern and has a good size upstairs, and for summer a decked area.
If you do try this place, and it is lovely for a romantic meal, the honeycomb cheesecake it not to be missed!

Authentic Italian
This is a lovely friendly little restaurant.
On my last visit they couldn't do enough for us bringing free bruchetta to start and a free side salad with our main course.
The food is cooked fresh which makes it easy to omit ingredients and I enjoyed a lovely seafood risotto which was cooked to perfection. My friends also found the pasta dishes to be on the generous side but still found room for one of their lovely desserts!

Another Italian
Yet another chain of Italian restaurant. However this one does benefit from a lovely location and a very cosy feel once you are inside.
I went with a friend and we shared a starter which was a generous sized pizza bread topped with rocket and caramalized onions. It was lovely but a little too much for one.
As a main couse I order the chargrilled salmon which had a lovely flavour and was served on a generous amount of baby potatos and a token amount of green beans!
Not bad. But it is still Pizza Express for me i'm afraid.

Review of Bella Italia

Bella Pasta
Very much standard Italian fare.
Nothing special really.
Although the food is not bad, its certainly not incredible. The prices are beween £8-£12 for a main course but my advice is to pay a bit more and go somewhere a little more authentic.

Yum!
I love this place. I have only eaten here once to date but the food was great.
Slightly more expensive than the other Italian restaurant chains however well worth it. There is a good range of dishes to choose from on the menu and the portion sizes are perfect.
The decor (lots of plants and lots of green) also takes you away from birmingham. Perfect for a romantic dinner.
