Review of The John Snow

cheap and cheerful
If you like your pubs unpretentious and a bit traditional then you'll like the John Snow. It's a Samuel Smith pub so the drinks are pretty cheap. The interior is all old wood and dark colours and the main bar is split into sections, however this does mean crouching through a half height door if your on the wrong side of the divide! It's not the biggest pub but does have an upstairs which I have yet to investigate. They also serve food but I didn't get round to trying that out either!

Great for people watching
This pub is conveniently placed for the theatres in this area, that's the reason I've been here a few times. The interior is quite authentic with dark wood and some nice original looking features. It's a great place to people watch as the streams of tourists, shoppers and theatre goers is endless and dispite being quite small I've always managed to grab a good seat.

Review of Masala Zone

Intersting Indian
I really like Masala Zone. The food is tasty and the service is very friendly, if a little slow when it gets really busy. The food is a bit more exciting than the average Indian restaurant with the option of spicy noodles bowls and thalis along with the traditional curries. A great option if you just can't decide what sort if food you fancy. Add to that a good drinks menu including tasty smoothies and it's a winner.

Review of Hamburger Union

Fancy burgers
We chose this restaurant because we were in a hurry and there was no queue, but I was pleasantly surprised. You order at the counter, this is a burger chain after all, then choose a seat. But unlike a standard burger chain, your food is brought over to you on a plate and you can have a beer or a glass of wine. The menu is fairly typical with the odd exception; a chorizo sausage burger and three different vegetarian options. The prices are a bit steep though at £4 for the cheapest burger.

Review of PizzaExpress

Express pizza
When you go to Pizza Express you know pretty much what you're getting and this branch is no exception. It was a Saturday lunchtime and pretty busy but we were seated and served promptly. The food was also quite speedy and our waiter was very friendly. We both had salads which come with dough sticks and are a good size so you don't feel like you're missing out.

Browse or buy
This is a great shop for quirky, pretty bits and pieces, perfect gifts for those hard to buy for people. They also have a range of retro toys and a great selection of stocking-fillers. Well worth a look for the last minute shopper.
