Review of Sway

Bar, restaurant, club
I've been to Sway a couple of times, the first was early evening during the week and we sat in the ground floor restaurant, even though we were not eating. The 'kitchen' as they call it, is a huge room filled with booths and tables. It also has a long bar, which we didn't get to use as we were treated to table service. Downstairs, they have a large bar, private function room and a club room. You can order bar snacks and nibbles down there and there are large booths along the walls. You can also book online, whether it's 6 for drinks, 4 for dinner or an entire function room you want.

Review of The Comedy Store
10 Jul 07, 13:37
So funny it hurts
Having only ever seen live comedy in huge theatres I didn't know what to expect at the Comedy Store. I had a great time, I laughed so much my face ached! I went to the Tuesday night Cutting Edge show which relies on audience suggestions to get them started. It is a loose competition between the 6 comedians with songs and plenty of interaction with the audience. It's quite a small and dark place which gives it great atmosphere, just don't sit on the front row unless you really want to participate! Along with the bar they also serve a good selection of food which you can take to your seat in the audience. The average plate it about £6. The Comedy Store is a great night out, guaranteed to make you laugh.

Quality cleaning
I agree with Hayley M. this is a great dry cleaners. The staff are always very friendly and polite. I think the prices are reasonable as the quality of the cleaning is flawless, it makes garments look brand new again. I would highly recomend it.

Review of Sausage and Mash
13 Jun 07, 18:53
The perfect no frills cafe
Dispite the name, they do have more than just sausage and mash on the menu (cooked breakfasts, fish cakes, pies etc) but the sausages are definitely the best. Mix and match two or three different sausages with your choice of mash and gravy or if you like to share, go for the Desperate Dan sausage plates (twelve sausages!) Topped of with a mug of tea or a ginger beer, you can't go wrong! Also, if it's busy and you have to wait for a table, you can leave your number and they'll call you when your table is ready.

Review of Dansk Flowers

Gorgeous bouquets
If you're treating someone (or yourself) then you can't get much better than Dansk Flowers. They have a great choice of hand-tied bouquets in various sizes and colours. Or if you know exactly what you want they also have a huge selection of cut flowers to choose from. On the down side, some of the larger bouquets are pretty expensive but they're absolutely gorgeous so well worth it!

Review of Smiths Of Smithfield

Great food, patchy service.
I love this place! I've been here for breakfast on the ground floor. There is a huge choice from a full English to a bowl of porridge or just toast and jam. It was pretty busy so we had to wait for a table but once seated the service was quick. I've also been to the second floor restaurant for dinner. Again I found it difficult to choose between all the options. I chose fish cakes, a personal favourite, and I was not disappointed. Although if I could only have one dish it would have to be the vanilla cheesecake which was outstanding! The restaurant was quite noisy and the service was a little slow even for a busy Saturday night which is why I can't give five stars. Go for the top notch food and the fact that you can book a table online.

Review of Parveen Tandoori Restaurant

Islington gem
I've been to the Parveen quite a few times and only once had a bad experience, they seemed to have forgotten our order so it took a long time. The food is always great though and the service is usually very good. The seating is a little tight as they have packed in so many tables but on the plus side I've rarely waited for a table or had to book, even on a Saturday night. I totally agree with Holly J, if you're hungry in Islington, head to the Parveen.

Review of Apostrophe

Delicious pastries
A visit to Apostrophe can be test of willpower. I can never resist a pastry or a cake to go with my coffee. They also have a good selection of breads and sandwiches, all of which you can eat in or take out. It's not the cheapest bakery but everything looks gorgeous and the things I have sampled have been very tasty. The shocking pink colour scheming doesn't hurt either! Perfect for an afternoon coffee break.

Review of Zaffrani

Smart and tasty
Tucked away off Upper Street, this great Indian restaurant is easy to miss but well worth a visit. Inside the decor is contemporary and the service is good. They have a range of delicious dishes that are not the usual Rogan Josh and Jalfrezi so be prepared to actually read the extensive menu and not just choose your usual. Best of all the portions are a sensible size so you can have a starter, main course and a dessert (which are also very tasty) It does get busy on a Saturday night though, so go early or book in advance.

Cute yarn shop
What a great shop. A huge variety of yarns and patterns are crammed into this tiny shop. They also run classes for beginners and the more advanced.
