Review of Vanilla

Vanilla - organic deli and cafe
Vanilla isn't a speedy place to have a cup of coffee but it is a pleasant one. The coffees, teas and everything else are organic and carefully sourced.
The soup is home made, vegetarian and delicious. Sandwiches are made to order, slowly but with love. Roast Beef and Horseradish on brown. Yum. The decor is delightful and there is a charming small garden out the back.
There's a deli section selling breads, dairy produce, meats and juices plus fresh vegetables. They run an organic vegetable box delivery, organic meat delivery and fresh fish from Devon arrives every Thursday.
There are other events as well: a book club meets on the first Sunday afternoon of the month and I think there's a writing class.
In fact Vanilla is the hub of middle-class life in Acton.

Review of North China

North China - the best around
North China is a delightful, local Chinese restaurant: the food is fresh and delicious - Peking crispy duck, sweet and sour chicken and brocolli with ginger are particular favourites with my family. The staff are charming too. It is a good idea to book though they may squeeze you in by opening the slightly depressing upstairs room. Cownstairs is far nicer.
