Small fish big pond 
Jack's is high quality but the portions are a bit onthe small side. There's a more generous fish and chip shop at the Batford parade about a mile away, but Jack's is the place if you've just stumbled off at the station needing a quick fill!

Yum scrum 
I love this 'cause its my local curry house. Its not flash but the other's in harpenden are too posh and expensive. Good big portions, tasty food, nice lads on the counter.

Swheat place
Wheathampsted doesn't have many places for a cuppa, but this is the best. You can watch the world go by from the window and the snacks & drinks are a good standard. Kids are welcome but they don;t like them let off the lead!

Nice garden
This is a cafe off the mainstreet up an alley. Its cramped inside but the coffee is good and there is a deli section. Across the alley there is outside seating in a walled garden which is unusual for Harpenden. Good for a hot day.

Worship at the Gibraltar 
This is a great pub for a cosy pint or a nice meal. To the right is a dining area under a vaulted ceiling. To the left and round the bar, space for drinkers. The chicken with brie is top on the menu and there's always a few good ales to choose from. Pricey but unpretentious.

Thai-tanic!
This place is great for take away. Thai green curry hot, wet and authentic like it should be. They have a half Chinese, half Thai menu so there's no arguing what you want with your mates.
