Review of Hi Sushi

sushi overload
12 quid for all you can eat is an amazing deal (especially given that it includes sashimi) but once you're over the bargainous prices, you realise that you actually don't want to eat more than 12 quid's worth of sushi. The quality is good, so if you are feeling really hungry, go for it, otherwise save your appetite for something a bit more satisfying than lots of raw fish.

Review of Shochu Lounge

same menu as Roka, better atmosphere
This is the sister bar to the restaurant Roka, and in my opinion a far superior dining experience. Roka could be anywhere with its minimalist design, but Shochu is dark, atmospheric, and serves the best cocktails in London. The food is absolutely incredible too. The menu is a bit confusing as all the small dishes are mixed up with the bigger ones, but my advice is to take a gamble with your order - whatever you choose you won't be disappointed!

Review of Rossopomodoro

odd menu, good pizzas
This small italian tries to be a bit fancy with the menu (potatoes on pizzas - weird?) but its pizzas are really good nonetheless. Not as good as Luna Rossa a couple of doors down (owned by the same people I'm told), but not a bad second choice if you can't get in there or osteria basilico.

Review of Osteria Basilico

decent italian in overpriced area
despite the slightly overbearing cheesy italian services, the food here is excellent. They sometimes try to kick you out early to squeeze in a second sitting so best to get there a bit later and take your time. Booking essential!

cosy in camden
very cosy and intimate and the best burger in camden (better than hache!). Godd for a date or just to go with mates. Gets busy so it is a good idea to book a table before you go.

engenious
Primrose hill is full of so many pretentious overpriced places, but this one is at least worth the money. Delicious food and slightly more adventurous than most gastropubs. Gorgeous beer garden in the summer but you definitely need to book in advance to get one of the coveted tables.

Review of St. Johns Tavern

great restaurant
a bit overpriced, but great atmosphere in the restaurant at the back, and perfect for any occasion be it a date or going out in with a group of friends. The pub at the front is lacking in atmosphere in comparison.

Review of The Lighthouse

a taste of the ocean... in archway!
this place is on the pretty ugly main road that becomes the A1 and is nestled just beneath the eponymous arch. Despite its surroundings, on entering you feel like you are on holiday. Increrdibly fresh fish and near perfect mussels. The fish main courses are a bit bland for my tastes, but deinitely worth a visit for the friendly service and the mussels.

well worth a visit
down the most charmingly higgledipiggledy street in Hampstead this is the best gastro pub in the area. There is a smart restaurant upstairs for a more decadent occasion, but the food downstairs is just as good. Pricey, but so much better than standard gasto pub fare.

Review of Yidiz Supermarket

best for fruit, veg and herbs
There are so many rubbish supermarkets in the area, I always go to Yildiz first for all my fruit and veg and best of all the enormous bunches of fresh herbs which you can't buy in the supermarket. Excellent value too.
