Review of Bali Brasserie

off beaten track
This odyssey of Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine at the bottom of a Hove restidential road is way off the beaten track, but has a loyal following nonetheless. Decor is 1970's meets Far East.

Review of Aberdeen Steak Houses

Back to the 80's
Prepare to take a trip back to the 80's with prawn cocktail, steak and chips and creme caramel or sherry trifle on the menu. There's been a change of ownership recently but it's still as good as ever, you know what you're getting

Review of China Garden Restaurant

Immaculate
The China Garden has been around for years. It looks very upmarket and is immaculate with attentive staff who keep topping up your drinks. It's had a bit of bad press recently but it's still one of my favourites

Review of Market Diner

Open all hours
This caff (open through the night) is a local institution, where cabbies sit side by side with wired clubbers and drunk students and the only sauce that flows is the HP

Vast menu
Anyone for seafood porridge? This vast efficient restaurant has almost 200 dishes, there's pretty much every chinese dish you can think of. Ever tried deep fried ice cream? No me neither but it's on the menu!

Review of Kambi's Restaurant

Very tasty
A lebanese restaurant that also serves Iranian and Arabic food. Two thirds of the menu is veggie and many dishes are suitable for vegans. There's a very quick takeaway counter at the front of the restaurant. The atmosphere is suitably middle eastern with music redolent of ancient cities

Intimate
The Gingerman has sister restaurants at drakes Hotel, and the Ginger Pig. Small and tucked away, perfect for intimate dates or lunches gossiping with your mates.Neutral, minimalist decor, wooden floor and brown leather chairs

Review of Planet India
19 May 08, 20:21
It could have been invented for me
This place is more of an Indian Bistro than anything else, it looks just like a cafe but serves restaurant level food, and is very popular with those in the know. All the usual curries, snacks, side orders and a few different items such as taeka dall curry. Until recently it was completely veggie but not now

Review of Terre A Terre

Really imaginative
Really imaginative veggie food. Terre a Terre has a lovely selection of lovely things from the tapas menu and is perfect for people who can't chose what to have. It's a well known Brighton veggie restaurant. Closed on Mondays

Review of Suttons Furnishings

Beautiful designs
I recently went into this shop to look for curtains. They have a huge amount of fabric books, so many you don't know where to start, but they do a very good job helping you pick the right books to go with your taste. Really really nice designs, I'm sure they'd have something for everyone. They'll come round to your house to measure up for you. A good experience
