Gone down hill 
This place used to have a great reputation, and for good reason it was great. Well not anymore, probably down to new owners, or if not, loss of interest, this restaurant is no longer any good and I wouldn't recomend it! Of all the options you have for an italian, there is no reason to go here!

Great bistro 
This is a very intimate, cosy restaurant that does really great food. The menu is always changing, so you never get bored of going. They do great breakfasts and lunches but the dinner is a step above the others. A very nice little bistro

Great night out
This is a great comedy club, certainly the best one that I know of in Leicester It has a great little bar downstairs. The comedians are always great value, and afterwards it turns into a great party, open until late. A great night out for anyone who likes comedy and music

Seen better days
I think this bar has seen better days and has lost some inspiration. It just feels a bit grotty when you go in there, and compared to the likes of O Bar and Mobius, it's gone shabby, and not in a chique way. It needs to pull it's socks up and decide what it is

Not working for me
I'm not sure who this bar is trying to target, or what it's trying to be, but I'm not sure it pulls it off. It doesn't seem to have any atmosphere or anything about it at all. It's too small to pull off the minimalist interior, it just seems to make it cold, and makes you feel like you have to whisper. In contrast to the bar next door it doesn't stand a chance

Review of Ask Restaurants

A good brand
Pretty much everyone knows what Ask is like, the chain has grown considerably over the past few years. This Ask on Silver Street in Leicester is one of the best ones I've been to. It's a great building, lots of character which you don't often get with this chain. The specials are always good as is the service. In the summer the outside area is really nice. i'd go for the pizza rather than the pasta but it's all good

Great bar
Fat Cats is one of the best bars in Leicester. It's a good space, lots of comfy sofas, great music, and great atmosphere. It's also got a nice outside area which is great in the summer, and now also for smokers. A good place to go in the day or evening

Bad experience
I went to this restaurant once and I won't go back. From what I can remember the food was nice, and the general look of the restaurant was nice too, no complaints. The service, however, was not good at all. I went with a group of about 8 people and we had to wait a good hour from when we sat down to our main course. When we complained the waitress dealt with it really badly, didn't apologise, and made us feel unreasonable for saying something. This, of course, may have been a one off, but it put me off and I won't go back

Best bar on Braunstone Gate
This is definately the best bar on Braunstone Gate. A great little outside area for the summer and done really nicely inside, to make it a great place to meet friends for a drink. The foods good as well, although it's a better bar than it is a restaurant. If you're going out in this area, it is the best place to go

Great menu
This is an old established tapas restaurant. the menu is really varied, and it's all fab. The selection is great, you can really try things that you would never usually put together and really enjoy it. Barceloneta is a great looking restaurant, it really does make you feel like you're in Spain. It now has a great bar on the side of it, which allows you to spend the whole night there, a great plus, as there's not much around there other than that bar. Well recommended. You must try the meatballs

Great curry 
I haven't been to the Tiffin for a while but the last time I went I loved it. It is the original Indian restaurant in Leicester which is saying something, and the food is great, a really nice curry

A very good curry for big parties
Shimla Pinks is really about taking a large group of people to a good quality Indian, which is pretty unique if you think about it, even in Leicester. It has a very good curry, the menu is pretty original, and it caters for the masses (that don't mind paying the going rate rather than cheap rubbish) Perfect

Best in Leicester 
The Case is a lovely restaurant. the menu changes every 6 weeks and is always amazing. You can look out over looking the people walking through the town centre from above, which is always good value, especially on a Saturday night. they have a great champayne bar downstairs too

If you have no money and are thinking of window shopping, don't it's too dangerous! Scotneys has fabulous clothes for every occasion, great designers such as Paul Smith, Boss, Stella Macartney, and great accessories such as boots, belts, shoes, jewellery

Reliable taxis are hard to find
Swift cabs get to you on time, and never let you down, what more can you ask from a cab firm. Well I suppose you could expect a clean and new cab, which you don't get with Swift, but hey, as long as I get to the pub on time I don't really mind

Amazing Stylists
Barry Stephen's hair salon is, I think, the best one in Leicester. The team take it very seriously, and are all very professional. They are obviously a creative team, and like nothing more than to do a new style to make you look fantastic. Sarah is my recommendation

Great Bar
This is a really nice, chilled out bar. A great place to relax very easily with friends, a good crowd and lots of lovely comfy sofas. What more could you ask for? Oh yes, they also do great cocktails!
