Review of Speedway Barbers

Top Barbers
Andy & Simon run this place together and offer a great service. Pop in and you'll get a cut straight away, appointments are not needed, I don't think they do youngsters though. They're a proper old-fashioned barbers and you can even watch the telly whilst getting your barnet chopped.

Review of Willand Fish & Chips

Salt & vinegar?
The building is the weirdest thing in the village but at least it's unique. The chips are properly cooked, unlike so many other establishments these days and the service is so so friendly. I pop along roughly once every two weeks (you have to watch the waistline) and have never had a bad meal there yet.

Grass roots
It's a great little club with big aspirations. OK, it costs £5 to watch a game but it's not bad quality. The clubhouse is good too, with live footy shown in there and cheap beer, always a great combinations.

Siiiiiiit...!
A lovely little pet shop with people that know what they're talking about, working there. Have helped me out on several occasions and it beats going to the big multi-nationals on out-of-town industrial estates.

The Gulls
Nice ground, poor football. I'm not a Torquay fan so i don't want to say anything about the team itself but as small football grounds go, I've seen a lot worse.

Review of Guildhall Shopping Centre

A PROPER shopping centre
It's no Princesshay but that's an advantage. It has the shops that you can afford to shop in. Some lovely little nic nac places as well as Argos and Primark. If you can avoid the smoking area (not nice) then it's a great little gem in the middle of the city centre.

Childhood stuff
Why weren't there places like this around when I was a kid, it's brilliant. Take the kids along and lose them for the day, perfect!

Review of Verbeer Manor

A forgotten gem
This place seems to have fallen off of the radar in recent years... and that's a shame. The food is good and the service isn't bad either. It's right next door to diggerland too, a perfect family day out.

Time to read
I love autobiographies and this place has a plentiful supply (just under the stairs to the right). It also has the coffee shop upsatirs with internet connection too, a great marketing idea and it works.

Review of Vue Cinema

Viewing pleasure
It knocks the stuffing out of the Odeon but it lacks the charm. Having said that, all 7 screens are modern and the sound is awesome. I found the seats a little uncomfortable but if Brian May sits in front of you, you'll still be able to see over his head. As with all cinemas, eat before you go, I can't believe they're allowed to charge that much for refreshments.
