Review of Cavells Cafe Bar

Cool Cafe Bar in the City
Cavell's Cafe Bar on High Street is a great place to relax and unwind. Theres a really nice atmosphere to the place like you would get in a typical coffee shop whilst still retaining a vibe like a bar. I was very impressed and I haven't found a cafe bar like this in London or anywhere else for that matter. The snack menu is good so if you come here try something off there rather than hitting straight for the bar for lots of drinks.

Review of The City Road Inn
13 Nov 07, 19:55
Sub Standard City Pub
The City Road Inn isn't an outstanding place to go, its what I would call a'safe bet'. The bar staff are friendly and polite at the bar, the jukebox is good and the drinks are well priced. I only came in here once or twice but it seems to be a football kind of pub. I know they screen the big sporting events here but the pub doesn't have anything about it apart from this.

Review of Dry Bar

Chav Central in the Centre
The Dry Bar can be found on Oldham Street full of Chav's. I heard it used to be a really cool place to hangout a few years back but something changed and its now invested with the wrong sorts of people. It's a shame thou as It's got a really long bar which seems to be going to waste. I felt an air of dodgyness about this place so I didn't stay two long. Another bar to avoid in Manchester.

Review of Churchills
13 Nov 07, 19:47
Overrated'Fun Pub'
Churchill's on Chorlton Street is slap bang in the heart of the action near Canal Street. Its the archetypal'fun pub' although if you think a pub full of drunk screaming women in groups is fun then do visit here. The staff were a little bit blunt at the bar but what really annoyed me were the door mens policy of letting in hundreds of girls in and turning guys away for no real reason. It's a good venue thou but I wont be going back there again.

Review of Baa Bar
13 Nov 07, 19:41
Attracts Students like Bees to Honey
The Baa Bar (very difficult to say properly when drinking) is in the Deansgate area of the city of Manchester. Deansgate is a very popular area now with drinkers with many new clubs and bars springing up. The Baa Bar seems to attract students like bees around honey so if you are looking for a more sophisticated venue with a classier atmosphere then head off somewhere else. That said its a good club to go too if you want a lively bar to drink in. I rate it quite highly.

Review of Empire Bar

It's a bit of a'Meat Market' in here
I can describe the Empire Bar in Charter Square very easily; it's a bit of a meat market in here. The door staff looked like they weren't doing there job as I'm sure several girls in there were no where near the legal age of drinking. It's a bit of a tip inside as well so you aren't missing much in that department either. I didn't enjoy this bar at all and was quite relieved the leave as quickly as I did (which was about 15 minutes).

Review of The Dove & Rainbow
13 Nov 07, 19:22
Once Bad Now Excellent
The Dove and Rainbow in Hartshead Square used to be really bad borderline dump. Then someone came up and swept the pub of its feet and gave it a lovingly new refurbishment. As a result the place is 100 times better than before and the this has filtered through to people has the place looked as busy as ever last time I had went. If you live local and went before the refurbishment, I urge you to go again then and experience the new experience.

Review of The Cutler
13 Nov 07, 19:19
A Gem of a Place
The Cutler on Cambridge Street is very deceptive. It looks very small on the outside but once you walk in it opens up a lot. The staff are very good here and service was as quick as any place I've seen. It's good some old wood decor and the toilets are clean and modern which makes a change. Somehow it wasn't that busy for a Saturday night when I went which is a real shame as the people of Sheffield are missing out on a treat here.

Review of Cubana
13 Nov 07, 19:16
Great Food, Great Music
Cubana on Trippet Lane serves some fantastic tapas, probably the best in the city from what others have told me. It's also got an impressive vegetarian menu but it lacks size. it's too small a restaurant for me. However the atmosphere makes up for some of this and the quality of the food is excellent and the music is also very good. They played a lot of salsa the night I went. It's probably best with a small group of friends and I would recommend you book a table.

Review of The Cavendish
13 Nov 07, 19:13
Well Below My Expectations
West Street is the place to go in Sheffield but avoid the place known as The Cavendish. It's full of students but this isn't what makes it bad. The service is dreadful at the bar, often rushed so you never quite get a full pint from the tap. They are also quite rude but the chips were nice but this isn't going to change my mind about the place. It's got potential but it needs someone new to come in and start from scratch again.
