Review of River Spice

Food and Drinks
This restaurant offers different kind of food, there's not just Indian cuisine and though there are obvious Indian influences, the food is more widely inspired by both Thai and European ingredients and cooking styles. If you don't like beer there's a reasonably priced wine list mixing old and new world, but only the house red and white are available by the glass.

Review of Hanoi Cafe

Hanoi Café
Hanoi Café is one of the many Vietnamese eateries on Kingsland Road. I’ve tried several but I liked this place the most. With such great food and cheap prices, I couldn’t understand why this place wasn’t packed out on a Friday evening. It’s a café but a sleek-looking one at that. The atmosphere is friendly and unformal.

Review of Kasturi
06 May 08, 16:05
Kasturi
This is the right place for business dinners, relaxed out-of-office lunches, and perhaps most importantly, for relieving the craving of a self-confessed curry addict. The menu is wide ranging, with a few favourites, but many more unusual dishes. The most "strange" dish that we had it was a side order of bharwan tinda, an unusual dish of stuffed gourds.

Review of Simurgh Restaurant

Not Bad but Pay Attention to the Waiters!!!
The restaurant itself is not particularly large and the décor is unintrusive. Our waiter wasn't so good and I found him, a little bit rude. When he came to serve us, he was very keen to guide us through the menu, deterring me from ordering Lavash, as it would not complement my starter, and commenting on the merits of each dish we chose.

Eat and Drinks
This restaurtant is really huge, bright and comfortable. The atmosphere is unformal and this is not the tipical noisy restaurant. Staff is very helpful and polite, always ready to give advices to the costumers. If you're interested in drinking there are cocktails and bar meals in the chic and spacious downstairs bar.

Review of Rock Garden
30 Apr 08, 16:50
Rock Food
In this place you can eat food from everywhere. There is a good food offer and ethnically inclusive list of starters (for vegetarians too). Go Greek with the green and Kalamata olives, Italian with the house antipasti plate (for vegetarian too), the Thai fish cakes for a scrumptiously spicy and tangy Asian taste, or the delectably creamy, whipped chicken liver parfait for something á la Français.

Mela
However you decide to sample Mela's impressive cuisine, make sure you reserve, and leave yourself enough time to get through the queues. Food is fresh, tasty and well cooked. Staff is polite and friendly. The only bad thing is that the restaurant is a little bit noisy becasue it's always busy.

Review of Sugar Club

Sugar Club
The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere, with quality people-watching opportunities at the bar. The downstairs dining room is more sedate, the minimalist décor and dimmed lights creating a stylish but relaxed feel. Food is good, I had fish and i can say it was fresh and tasty, well cooked.

Review of Ping Pong

Impressive Restaurant
The restaurant is huge, and really quite impressive. There are beautiful dark wood tables, sweeping balustrades, and Chinese haikus on the ceiling, which look very nice. Perfectly placed for a break during shopping, excellent set menu deals, and with another now open in Westbourne Grove, it's obviously going to be around for some time.

Excellent Japanese Food
Excellent Japanese restaurant. Wonderful furnitures: at the entrance there are stone furniture ; the bar has glass furniture and the restaurant has light wood furniture. A bad thing is that this restaurant is quit noisy. About food, sushi and sashimi are excellent. Service is mediocre but it doesn't matter, to go to eat at this restaurant worth it!

Review of Sketch

Good good Good
I've been to the Sketch 2 months ago. I had a veal sushi (as antipasto) that is served with different sauces, not bad but not so tasty. As principal dish I had quail with grapes stuffed and foie gras. For dessert I had a chocolate mousse. Everything was good, I ate very well.

Review of Notting Hill Brasserie
29 Apr 08, 14:03
Brasserie
Situated in a beautiful area, Notting Hill Brasserie is a really nice restaurant. Modern furniture and covy atmosphere. I had the "amuse bouche": artichokes cream with fries parmigian (very good!) and deer meat with cranberries. They offers different kind of bread (simple, with nuts, white, black and with olives). Quite expensive.

Review of Nahm At The Halkin
29 Apr 08, 12:28
Food from Bangkok
The atmosphere of this restaurant is really elegant, this is one of the most exclusive in London. Thai food is really good, a wonderful mixture of tastes and colours. Lots of ingredients come directly from Bangkok. The wine list too is very rich and if you're interested there is a good champagne selection.

Good but Expensive
This restaurant is a jewel of the Lonond' s gastronomic setting. It's a beautiful restaurant that consists in four large and elegant room covering with wood. The seafood is absolutly delicious and fresh. The dishes are simple but very good. The bad thing are the high prices, above all if you take wine!

Review of The Red Fort
21 Apr 08, 14:52
Indian Food
The Red Fort is a restaurant in the vanguard, today as in the past. In fact his reputation is good today too. Is one of the most fancy and fashon restaurant of Soho. There are delicious dishes as Nizami Kaliya and Mahi Tikka. Staff is nice and friendly, always ready to help the client.

Review of Smithfield Market
21 Apr 08, 14:31
Meat in Smithfield
Smithfield is the last meat market remain in the centre of London. In the past this place was one of the most dirty and degraded. Even Dickens wrote about this quarter in Oliver Twist. Today this area is becoming more elegant and the market, surrounded by bars, is located in a wondeful building.

Review of Tower Of London
21 Apr 08, 14:12
Medieval Tower
As everybody knows, the Tower of London is one of the most important attractive of the City. This is a big medieval compound that preserves the wonderful crown jewels. I don't advice to go there during the high season becasue there are a lot of tourists and long queue. Another solution could be to buy tickets ahead of time.

Review of Delfina Studio Restaurant
18 Apr 08, 16:41
Delfina By Chance
I ate in this restaurant by chance because I had a walk in this area of London. This place surprised me and it's a shame that it's opened just at lunch on working days. This means that the customers come from the financial societies of this area. The restaurant is light and wide and the menú change every two weeks.

Review of Bar Vinyl
16 Apr 08, 16:59
Pleasant Place
Too quiet, "confident" and with a welcome atmosphere , the Bar Vinyl is one of the first bars, in London, that gave hospitality to the DJs. There are particular retró chairs and music is pleasant. To spend some hours in this bar is a real pleasure, but, don't go there on the weekend becasue it would be a mission impossible to find a seat!

Review of Liberty and Co
14 Apr 08, 17:14
Liberty
Liberty is a fantastic Tudor building that was built with the beams two ships. A couple of the nice architectural details include commemorative carvings honoring the Liberty employees who died in the past. With small, intimate staircases, intricately designed elevators, wooden balconies and glass atriums – this has to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing and unique department stores in the city

Review of Boxwood Cafe
14 Apr 08, 16:34
New York in London
Nice café that takes on an upscale New York-style café with an emphasis on a more relaxed approach to dining and service. You can find young people because it's not the tipical serious place. You can take what you want, event just a wine glass. If you want to eat, food is good, I ate just an antipasto and it was delicious.

Review of Fluid
11 Apr 08, 16:29
Japanese Cocktail
Despite the ugly big white sign outside this bar, in japanes style, has a nice, quiet and calm atmosphere. I tasted a very good raspberry cocktail while my friends tried to play with videogames. There is a DJ that choose musics while a particular thing is a big photomontage of Tokyo in the wall.

Review of Thai Square
10 Apr 08, 10:14
Great food shame about the dancing!
We arrived and the food was great the lighting relaxed and chilled, gorgeous decor and nice staff.
BUT then they started dancing....which would have been great if they didn't wack the lights up and dance round you so you didn't feel you could eat your thai curry.
Apparently the show is only a couple of nights a week so I'd definately go again on a non dancing night!
