AMAZING stuff inside
You know when you come across those shops and you think.... wow, why the hell haven't I come here sooner?? It's like that with this one. It has a HUGE range of products from the Far East. They also have a brilliant website so you can view everything online. The stuff they sell makes excellent presents for friends, even if they're not particularly 'new age' (I think that would be a fair description of the stuff inside). If you're looking for thoughtful gifts to relax people, or for lovely ornaments for your house that are unusual, it's a great place to go and look.

Review of Boots
13 May 08, 11:27
Everything you need
This boots is MASSIVE so if you're popping in for an eye cream you'll find yourself in there a while... but this would be perfect if you've got a load of birthday presents to buy or you've got some time to spare. It's got SO much choice. The makeup counters seem to go on forever (they have an Yves Saint Laurent so you can get your Touche Eclait in here) and stock every fake tan you can think of (apart from fake bake, the buggers!) The points boots offer are the best around so I always go here. Plus this one has a huge selection of face masks which I force my partner to try out with me - he loves it. Loads of staff on too so no long queues...

Review of New Look

Welcome to the sauna
I went in here for the first time at the weekend (on one of the hottest days of the year) and all their air conditioning was broken so it was absolutely boiling. I literally ran in to get some cheap flip flops and then dived out the shop. It was really busy and messy. There weren't enough staff on either. The lady who served me was lovely and obviously really struggling in the heat, but their manager needs to sort the place out. Surely you'd get the air con out as an emergency?? But as with all New Looks, great jewellery, SHOES (!) and underwear. It's not as good as the Northampton shop though which literally has entire warehouse dedicated just to shoes. It's rather wonderful. But it's a good size and on a normal weather day would be worth a visit

Review of The Gap

Good size
I went in here for the first time at the weekend - it seemed to be the only air conditioned shop on Fosse Park! It's large and really spacious so you can see stuff clearly. The really annoying thing though is with those hangers whenever you touch anything it just falls down straight away. I kept doing it so just gave up in the end. Gap is good for T-shirts and plain bits for summer. Plus, on a hot day, head for this shop on Fosse Park because all the others are like saunas...

Review of Pizza Hut

Great before/after the rugby
They've quite recently given this place a facelift and it's looking a lot nicer and way more modern... it's the perfect place to go before/after a rugby match and last time we went, it wasn't that busy at all (despite there being a big match on). They do takeaway so you can ring up and then your pizza is ready to pick up straight away. I miss the potato skins they used to do. The staff seemed friendly and I got served quickly.... it seems a lot more grown up than the pizza hut in Milton Keynes and you won't be surrounded by kid's parties and ice cream like you always feel down the M1

Review of Daniel's Bistro

Daniel's Bistro
My sister has been here on two dates... but she said it wasn't good for dates because you feel so exposed, it's really light so they can see every imperfection like your tash or your spots (that's probably just me). It's cosy but not in a romantic way because of the lighting. You're very close to other people's tables unfortunately. I would say this place was expensive and the food was OK... some people rave about it but I think it was a bit over priced for what it was. I wouldn't rush back here. My sister has been here 3 times so likes it, but it depends on your taste. It kind of feels like it's in the middle of nowhere too. There's nothing around it apart from flats and a sports bar. It gets VERY busy so you have to book. The staff were foreign (I think the owner's Italian or French) but it's run by his family and friends. It was that typical foreign standoffishness.... very formal and not warm and friendly at all. To get to the loos, you'll find it really confusing! My sister ended up in the kitchen twice on her dates, but then she is blonde bless her :o)

Review of Compass Bar & Grill

Compass Bar & Grill
This place is lovely, more like a pub than a bar. Nice interior with dark wood. It never seems particularly busy, even on a Saturday night so great if you want a proper chat with a friend without being drowned out by large groups of squealing women. Popular with local young professionals. It's quite small inside, but it's quite cosy too. The value for money was pretty average. The staff were always very friendly and young, they're also quite trendy but not in an intimidating way at all. Very informal and relazed, perfect place to unwind....

Review of The Cameo Bar

My sister's favourite!
I absolutely LOVE this place! My sister and I went in here and this is her favourite bar in the world. The atmosphere is really lovely, very dark and cosy with small corners where you're tucked away from everybody... lovely food, it's delicious and well cooked. It's a bit like an American Diner menu (burgers and chips) but all homemade. The vegetarian burger was amazing. It's EXCELLENT value for money and the chips are great. In the winter they have an open fire which you can sit right by to have your drink or eat your meal. It does get very busy on weekend evenings, it does get crowded, but during the day and weekday evenings, it's so nice and quiet but still enough people to make it nice. The staff are very young and friendly. They're also really informal so you feel really relaxed. It's not for students, but it is for younger people... it's pretty much the opposite of Malmaison, very informal. It's very popular with people after work as it's opposite the Scottish Civil Service building. Highly recommended!

Best Indian Restaurant in Scotland - OFFICIAL
This restaurant won the best Indian Restaurant in Scotland award a couple of years ago. This is testament to the quality of the food and service. The interior is lovely, typical Indian restaurant, opulent, long table cloths, dark rich colours etc... I wouldn't say it was really a family place, and it's very quiet during the day. In the evening it gets busy and on the weekend you have to book in advance. It's mostly couples or small groups of friends in there. Definitely worth a try if you're a curry fan.

Review of Milton Keynes Central Library

Huge library
This library is huge and you will certainly find what you're looking for... I used to come in here a lot for school work (back in the day!) because there were always loads of books and you knew all the reference books woouldn't have been pinched. As libraries go this one is definitely the best in the area. Nice to have a bit of culture in the centre of my concrete birthplace of Milton Keynes. Yes, I DO have that on my birth certificate. Watch out for the statue of the whispering women nearby. So typical of Milton Keynes, random, but it kind of works!
