Review of The Swan

Could be better
I know a lot of people who rave about the Swan, but when I went with some friends, my best mate was served up an avocado bake which was literally rock hard avocado swimming in water with a thick cold cheesey topping... I took it back and asked for something else and the woman was REALLY rude about it saying "that's how it's supposed to be". Nice for a drink and to play pool with the Great Horwood massive.... yo... but I wouldn't recommend for food.

Amazing spa
If you deserve a bit of pampering... this is the place to go. Unfortunately, I've never been able to afford a spa weekend (boooo!!) but I have been here a few times for dinner. They do a buffet lunch on Sunday which is really good value (£11 with no limit but I do think you have to be a member) and you can eat it over looking the swimming pool which sounds weird but is all very chilled out. If you want to treat someone special to a weekend away, then choose here, you'll be in her good books for MONTHS!

Review of Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel

Lovely location
I've stayed here a couple of times and I liked it. It's right on the river so perfect place to have a walk at the weekend and a drink in the bar. There are quite a few bars and it's especially nice in the winter as they have massive fires...

Review of Royal Oxford Hotel

Ideal location to explore
This is the ideal hotel to stay in if you want to explore Oxford. It's right in the very centre so you can walk to everything. It doesn't have a car park but you can stay in the one across the road (long stay train station) and it's cheaper. Smollensky's below is one of the best restaurants you'll visit... perfect for a bit of sight-seeing and luxury at the same time
PS - The photo associated with this isn't the hotel.... !

Review of Royal Albion Hotel

Best to book early
I had a lovely weekend away with a friend here a little while ago. Got a really good deal on the room and it's right on the seafront and in the centre of everything. It doesn't have a car park but they do have a good deal with the NCP up the road so you get it cheaper. One of the receptionists was very rude and left me standing there for ages but other than that the staff were very friendly. It's best to book early or you'll pay double if you want to add on an extra night to your stay. It's a good price and location and if you're not fussy about decor or 5 star service it's the ideal hotel to stay in...

Review of Willen Hospice Shops

Really nice quality things
I know this may seem like a bit of a strange one to review... BUT myself and my best mate have got so many bargains in here lately I wanted to share it. At Christmas they sell hand-made scarfs for £2 (!) which are gorgeous and you'd pay £15 for in Next. It's really nice quality stuff in this shop and you don't ever feel guilty for spending lots and treating yourself because you know it's going to such a great cause.... I got a brand new Wallis bag for £1 in there and I use it pretty much everyday. If you want a bargain, you should have a look. If you're a bit of a secret snob and don't like recycling, it's not for you.

Review of Chapman Auto Services

BEST car service around
I have lost count the number of times Ian and the rest of those who work there have gone WELL out of their way to help me (and my friends and family's cars). They are great value and 100% trustworthy. They're really helpful and Cathy who is on reception is lovely so you never feel weird going into the place as a woman on your own (like some places can make you feel). You don't get better service than here.

Review of Cineworld

Great choice
If you like your cinema... you won't find a place better than this. They have THIRTEEN screens which means there is always something on. It's expensive but then what cinema isn't? Really comfy too.

Review of Smollensky's

My FAVOURITE restaurant
This restaurant is to food and service what John Mayer is to music... absolutely amazing. This is my FAVOURITE restaurant ever. The food is just incredible (and not even that expensive) and the puddings (peanut butter cheesecake) are the most amazing ever. Loads of people literally go in on their own in the evening just for the pudding. The kitchen is open plan so you see all your food being prepared, the decor is fab and if you want to push the boat out like I did one weekend with a friend, we stayed in the Royal Oxford Hotel above it. They serve your breakfast in the restaurant which is equally impressive. Go go go. BUT BOOK! It's popular

Gorgeous
I went here ages ago and then again more recently with some friends - it was AMAZING. Great food, the most amazing atmosphere and although quite pricey, I definitely would say worth every penny. It's really relaxed and you don't feel like you're all crammed in having people listening into your conversation all the time...
