Review of Jello

Scary 1*

Oh my goodness. I really love the independent shopping stores in the lanes. I'm so sad though that every time I've been in this boutique the service has just been so agressively rude. I accidentally left the door open the last time I went in here, and was so badly shouted at for leaving it open that I'm a) too scared to go back in there and b) too scared to recommend anyone go in here. Wear your suit of armour if you want to go in here and have a relaxing shopping experience.

Review of Art Republic

just plain rude! 1*

I've window shopped in here for many, many years but with a birthday looming and the offer to have some art bought for me I thought I'd go in and talk to one of the staff here. I'd just given the assistant my budget and was looking forward to being shown what was on offer. However, I was rudely interuppted by a very abrubt man who started pulling on my umbrella without introducing himself. I looked at him in disbelief. Who the hell was he? Until now enjoying my brief shopping experience. The assistant assured him that my umbrella was dry, which it was, so I figured it was some weirdo who had no manners or interpersonal skills (you often get freaks like that in Brighton). He retorted that the water's the worst thing for art when it gets behind the frames and continued to ramble on rudely in my direction still pulling my ubrella. He walked away and I was left stunned. I asked the assistant who was as embarrassed as i was who he was..."he doesn't work here does he?" to which she replied "he's the owner." I promptly told her I wouldn't be continuing my enquiry and walked out. Do not visit art republic unless you want to be treated like dirt on the bottom of someone's shoes. The owner who's so above himself he obviously doesn't think he needs to give half decent customer service.

Review of Karims

Even when you're drunk it doesn't taste good 1*

Even when you're drunk it doesn't taste good here at Karims. And that's just the service. The owner (who also runs the restaurant I think), makes you think he's doing you a favour by cooking for you. Our curry was runny, flavourless and served with no love. Stick with Ashoka on Church Road.

Review of Brighton & Hove Bus & Coach Co

Buses cost more in Brighton than London 1*

Seeing as buses cost more in Brighton than London, you'd naturally expect a better service. However, I've experienced drivers not bothering to stop and moving off whilst passengers have tried to board. The biscuit came on Saturday night on the No.7 on my way home from seeing some friends in Kemptown. The driver decided to park his bus (complete with passengers) on Queens Road to go into a newsagents and buy himself three chocolate bars. It was late enough - 10:45pm - and he was in the shop for at least 5 minutes. If we're paying through the nose to use buses, at least give us the service we deserve.

Review of Harrys

Don't do it! 1*

I have no idea how this place is still open. Perhaps you have to be really hungover to eat in here so anything tastes good after a night on the shandies. I ate a tuna steak in here that was more like a leather steak, the beer and wine was warm, the garlic bread wasn't even good enough to pass as Tesco value and the service was really unprofessional. It was so revolting that I'd only eaten two mouthfuls, said I couldn't eat it, and they still made me pay! Perhaps it was an off day when I went. I'm not going to risk it again though.

Review of Johnson Cleaners

The customer is always wrong 1*

After receiving absolutely terrible customer service and results I've decided on what Johnson's customer service policy is: "The customer is always wrong". I've often stood behind customers who've lost items that have been cleaned and felt so sorry for them, until I get to the front desk and it's me who's had my favourite dress ruined. Even though I've had it cleaned somewhere else professionally already without problems, Johnsons will always tell you that a) it's your fault and b) it's a manufacturing problem. They'll then send it off for technical inspection and then they'll still tell you it wasn't their fault. Only take your dry cleaning to Johnsons if you never want to wear it again. On this occassion, I was told that another customer had brought in a £2k pair of jeans (my dress was worth £1175) and they got ruined. So that definitely means it was my fault then. They are just AWFUL and I urge you never to part with your hard-earned cash here. Try Kemptown Dry Cleaners if you live in Brighton or Hove - they're absolutely amazing.
