The BEST juice in the UK
The BEST juice in the UK. This place is just too tasty for words. You have to enjoy their refreshing and energising juices just once to be forever addicted. They also have a brance in the Victorian Quarter in Leeds which is the same fabulousness only more central if you're having a busy day in town.

Review of Marni

so stylish it almost hurts
This is the UK flagship Marni boutique, and when you step inside this store you are really getting one amazing experience of in-store architechture and cutting-edge Italian womenswear and accessories.
Marni, famous for it's leather goods (wonderfully designed bags and shoes) also has got some awesome pattern cutters which budget-dependent could see you leaving here looking so stylish it almost hurts.

Review of Koh Samui
29 May 08, 22:11
Koh Samui put the "bo" in "bo ho"
Koh Samui in my eyes put the "bo" in "bo ho" some eight years ago, and when you walk into this boutique you really get a sense that you're not going to find a more beautifully merchandised store which is impeccably colour schemed. Be warned, you will be required to re-mortgage before you actually can spend freely in here.

Review of Black Rabbit Inn
29 May 08, 22:03
Does country life get any better ?
Does country life get any better than being able to moor a little motor boat outside the Black Rabbit, then be able to eat locally sourced Sussex produce on the banks of the River Arun?
Every time I've been here it feels like time stops still and you've not a care in the world. Despite the fact it's gets incredibly busy during sunny lunchtimes, it is a great location and pituresque beyond expectations.

Review of Arundel Castle Enterprises
29 May 08, 19:26
Wonderful for so many reasons
This castle is wonderous for many reasons, however the most important I think is that it's still inhabited and used as a castle by the Duke and Duchess of Norfolk.
The gardens are perfectly manicured, and stepping inside the grounds is like having every stress and strain removed from your body as you walk into this idyllic haven of beauty and history.
There is great wheelchair access too so users can actually get to experience inside the castle on different floors thanks to the lifts inside.

somewhere between Reiss and Jigsaw
What a fabulous boutique. I'd never shopped there before, but the collection is somewhere between Reiss and Jigsaw - i.e fashion forward but pretty earthy. They've got a brilliant selection, although the service was a bit pretentious until I took about five items to the counter and all of a sudden they were friendly. Don't be put off though, the clothes in here have a subtle nod to the 50's and 60's but with a wonderful modern edge that'll give your work and weekend wardrobe a wonderful fashion fix.

Review of Peacock Inn

the PERFECT country pub
The Peacock Inn is the PERFECT country pub. As you drive up of the beaten track from Uckfield, you're greeted with a beautifully manicured tree which guards the wonderful thatched pub. The service is really friendly, I think that they must get live-in travellers to work the bar so you've got a wonderful chilled service serving up wonderfully ice cold pints.

Review of Food For Friends

absolutely delicious every single time
Food for Friends is absolutely delicious every, single time without fail. They do a wonderful vegetable curry, which is so flavoursome, along with a gorgeous goats cheese starter. They also sell a wonderful Cote de Provence rose which is the best I've ever tasted outside of the South of France. The interior is as organically designed as the food they serve, the service is always impeccable. The wonderful thing is that you never leave feeling hungry, so you can take a meat-eater here without fear of needing to do a GFC stop on the way home!

the venue to impress
What a wonderfully classy venue this is. Attached to the equally classy St Martins Lane Hotel, I enjoyed far too many delicious cocktails here last week. It's just such a cool spot that you really do need to make sure you're in your Sunday Best so you don't feel out of place against the impossibly glamorous and beautiful table watresses. I supped a wonderful Vladtini cocktail, which was a peachy pinky colour, dressed with a brightly coloured fresh pansy flower and accompanied by a champagne chaser with a strawberry in it. This is the venue to impress.

Review of Essensuals

Stefano: The God of Hairdressing
This Essensuals has recently been taken over by an Italian Hairdresser called Stefano, who in my eyes is The God of Hairdressing. He's been coiffering my barnet for about nine years now, and despite the fact that he is about 60 miles away from where I live, it's completely worth every minute of travelling. This salon is bursting full of creativity and impossibly trendy but friendly talent.

Review of Barley Mow

fantastic beer garden
This pub has got a fantastic beer garden complete with decking for the grown ups and a little playground for the children. The service here is great...just watch out for the entrance which is on a rather precarious sharp turn in the road.

I urge you to pay this wonderful pub a visit
This pub has got the friendliest service I have ever experienced. I turned up here very thirsty after a very long bike ride. The landlord and lady had just shut up shop after a busy lunchtime and they opened up their bar again just so I could get a drink. I urge you to pay this wonderful pub a visit. I am going back again very soon to enjoy the menu which looked lovely.

Review of Plumpton Racecourse
29 Apr 08, 10:57
Quintissentially Sussex
Plumpton Racecourse is just divine. It's a great jump course and the surroundings are just so picturesque. You can enjoy a wonderful lunch in the members enclosure, or if you're going for a more casual day you can indulge in a good old pint and basket of chips in the less formal eating area. They do weddings here too, and I couldn't imagine a prettier place to get married.

Review of Ollie & Nic

Their accessories range is second to none
A beautiful boutique. Their accessories range is second to none. I think this is an indigenous Brighton brand, born and bred in this fantastically creative city and is actually making money from their passion. The leather bags in here are to die for, and their jewellery is wonderful too. Their mantra must be "colour is the way forward" as all their collections are beautiful acid brights or pretty pastels which is just wonderful. It is on the pricey side, but you really do get quality which is second to none.

Review of City Of Plymouth Museum & Art Gallery

a fantastic museum
What a fantastic museum. This place has got so much happening in it. I went on a creative workshop day where families could come along and make all sorts of crafts and arts to enjoy the weekend. I would definitely recommend this for families. There's some great nautical art here too, which you would expect considering Plymouth's extensive maritime heritage.

Review of Sky Bar

superb venue especially for private parties
The Sky Bar is a superb venue especially for private parties. Recently taken over by Lee and Matthew (previous managers of Ha Ha Bar and Grill in Brighton), the boys have big plans to maximise the potential of this bar.
I had a fantastic private party here, and the food was outstanding. They catered for the oriental menu fantastically, all cooked by their resident chef. I've never had duck spring rolls so good.
They're now also doing food during the day which makes it a great spot to nip out for some very tasty lunch in a classic quirky Laines location.

Review of Tranquility At The Grand

wonderful
This beauty therapist has a branch in Portslade which is now my local beauticians. They are wonderful in there. I sneak in for my monthly beautifying session during my lunchtimes here. They're really friendly, and I am really looking forward to getting a group of my girlies together to enjoy their party pamper area for group manicures and treatments.

Review of Baroque Bespoke Jewellery
21 Apr 08, 12:21
I just LOVE this jewellers
I just LOVE this jewellers. Their service is absolutely second to none and their approach is a wonderful consultative sell. The jewellery is unique and what's even more unusual is that their workshop is adjacent to the shop so you can actually see where it's being made by the four resident jewellers on site. Phil Park crafted my engagement ring which I fall more and more in love with every day that passes. Another friend I recommended also got her bespoke hand-made engagement ring from here too so not only are they recommendable, but they're also very in demand. The store is gorgeously designed, with dark flock wall paper and wonderfully creative window accessories to give the shop it's unique identity and character.

Review of Sirene

A beautiful boutique for beautiful people
A beautiful boutique for beautiful people. This divine store caters for every fashion need a girl could possibly have. Amanda (the store owner) has just the most wonderful manner and her patience deserves a medal for the amount of times I've gone in to her shop and never actually bought anything and she still lets me try everything on. Her collections are fantastic and she sells brands including Sportmax (£££) and Orla Kiely (££). The pieces she buys are always bang on trend but delightfully wearable. I treated myself to a lovely pair of black patent peep-toe Ash wedges on Saturday. I know I'm going to have as much fun wearing them as I did when I was buying them. This gorgeous boutique deserves every success and more just on service and selection alone.

Review of ShakeAway

Your week's calories in just one easy shake
This is the opposite of slimfast. It should be called fatfast. The ad would go "Your week's calories in just one easy shake". The original Shakeaway is in Bournemouth, and since the late nineties the queues have just grown and grown. And quite rightly so. I mean, who wouldn't like to drink a malteser, choclit digestive, malted, angel cake milkshake sprinkled with marshmallows sitting on a layer of confectioners custard? And only 15,000 calories!

Review of Harrods

A very rich husband does help
Never underestimate the power of a discounted Gucci handbag and the effect that it has over a group of women, all running towards the leather room on the first day of the sale. Yes, the Harrods Sale is certainly the most famous in the world, and completely worth it if you've got your eye on something divine. Just don't expect to be the only person who's had their eye on it all season either but is keen to get it at the discounted prices. Oh, and a very rich husband does help.

Absolutely amazing
Lovely people run and work in this cafe - it's a great place for the community to gather and enjoy the facilities of this unique internet cafe. Owned by the community association and driven by Dee Simpson (a woman with such energy and passion) it's no wonder this is a thriving and enjoyable place to be.

Review of Casa Don Carlos
11 Apr 08, 11:04
This place never lets you down
Hidden in the Brighton Laines this restaurant's an absolute must if you really love tapas. Booking's essential at the weekend, and even on a weekday evening you may have to wait for a table. But persevere, this is the best tapas I've ever tasted - including that in Spain (where I've lived). My fiancé always goes for the tasty and meaty paella, and I never miss their Pimiento de Padron (although it's a seasonal special). Their house Rioja is fantastically priced and uncompromising in taste. 5 tapas dishes, four drinks and a side comes in under £40. The friendly and professional waiters - who're all Spanish - never fail to remember my favourite dishes and make every visit an absolute pleasure. Oooh, and if you don't want to eat carbs after 5pm then what better menu choice could you ever want than at Casa don Carlos? An absolute must, mui bien!
