Review of Koh Samui

Koh Samui put the "bo" in "bo ho"
Koh Samui in my eyes put the "bo" in "bo ho" some eight years ago, and when you walk into this boutique you really get a sense that you're not going to find a more beautifully merchandised store which is impeccably colour schemed. Be warned, you will be required to re-mortgage before you actually can spend freely in here.

Review of Ted Baker

a really unexpectedly interesting collection
Ted Baker have recently appointed two new creative directors and boy what a good job they are doing at shunning the mainstream image this brand has suffered with over the past decade. The womenswear range, set on the second floor is a really unexpectedly interesting collection. Lots of bow details and kitschness in this season which is very impressive. The sizing comes up a bit small for my liking, with most of the lines sculpted for a willowy physique. Thank goodness in a way as it seriously saves my bank balance from being plunged in the red forever!

Review of Monsoon
29 May 08, 18:57
a monsoon of shoppers
The Monsoon range is wonderfully colourful and great for weddings or special occassions. However, be prepared that the Brighton store is generally a monsoon of shoppers all crammed in trying to pay/try on/look at the stock. Don't go in a rush, especially in sale season, as there ain't no way you'll want to attempt to have a "quick mooch" as it just isn't happening.

Review of Jesire

somewhere between Reiss and Jigsaw
What a fabulous boutique. I'd never shopped there before, but the collection is somewhere between Reiss and Jigsaw - i.e fashion forward but pretty earthy. They've got a brilliant selection, although the service was a bit pretentious until I took about five items to the counter and all of a sudden they were friendly. Don't be put off though, the clothes in here have a subtle nod to the 50's and 60's but with a wonderful modern edge that'll give your work and weekend wardrobe a wonderful fashion fix.

Review of Coast

first, middle and last port of call for a wedding outfit
Coast is a great store as a first, middle and last port of call for a wedding outfit. The service in the Brighton store is outstanding. After a dry cleaners ruined a beautiful puff ball skirt, the wonderful assistant was so obliging in swapping it for a new one out of goodwill (I was crying on the phone in desperation as I was meant to be wearing it that evening). They're always really lovely if you're shopping on your own too and never give you anything but an honest opinion.

Review of Karen Millen

I've never been much of a Karen Millen girl
I've never been much of a Karen Millen girl. The first item I ever bought in here was a bridesmaid dress to wear for a friend's wedding, which has stayed in the wardrobe ever since that wonderful day. I've got a few friends that are KM girls through and through, so I will keep on window shopping until I manage to buy something here.

Review of Lavender Room

a labrynth of petals and prettiness
I never considered myself that much of a girly girl. However, every time I step into this labrynth of petals and prettiness I'm always left wishing I could afford to buy everything in there. The interior's is designed with a french influence, and the shop is brimming with floral gifts, accessories and wonderful lace-trimmed boudoir lingerie and womenswear.

Review of Sirene

A beautiful boutique for beautiful people
A beautiful boutique for beautiful people. This divine store caters for every fashion need a girl could possibly have. Amanda (the store owner) has just the most wonderful manner and her patience deserves a medal for the amount of times I've gone in to her shop and never actually bought anything and she still lets me try everything on. Her collections are fantastic and she sells brands including Sportmax (£££) and Orla Kiely (££). The pieces she buys are always bang on trend but delightfully wearable. I treated myself to a lovely pair of black patent peep-toe Ash wedges on Saturday. I know I'm going to have as much fun wearing them as I did when I was buying them. This gorgeous boutique deserves every success and more just on service and selection alone.

Review of Primark
16 Apr 08, 18:50
Want a migraine? Spend half an hour in Primarche!
Want a migraine? Spend half an hour in Primarche! Garaunteed to give you emotional meltdown at any time of day. But if you really want a mental breakdown then go on a Saturday. You will be, within minutes, surrounded by thousands of women all desperately trying to a) access the changing rooms and b) attempting to untangle hangers of items they want to buy. There has to be something good about Primark, but if we're going on cost per wear, I generally wear the impulse items no more than once before they hit the bin or the hand-me-down bag.

Review of Velvet

An absolute must for shabby chic
Velvet (both in Hove and Brighton) is an absolute must for shabby chic gifts and accessories. Great for girly gifts, cards and even clothes - so you often end up buying not just your friend a pressie, but one for you too!
