Review of Strada

a perfect place to go for a quick but luxe lunch 3*

Strada does a wonderful lunch menu - just £7.50 for a main and a glass of house plonk. I ate a really delicious pasta dish here which was just so fresh and tasty, and the atmosphere in here is really nice. It's a perfect place to go for a quick but luxe lunch in the middle of the day.

Review of Coriander Restaurant

Just stopped for tea... 3*

I've never actually eaten here, however it's always really busy in the evening. I've stopped in here for a tea in the afternoon, and it was a bit dead. Luckily I was with a friend and catching up so we weren't relying on the ambience to fill our afternoon.

Review of Orsino Cocktail Bar Restaurant

the most fabulous risotto 4*

Orsinos do the most fabulous risotto and a lovely house wine. They have a really big menu, which does make you worry a bit after watching Gordon Ramsay's recommendations of keeping the menu small to keep it fresh, however I enjoyed a gorgeous chicken dish here with a lemon sauce and it was wonderful. It's got great atmosphere, although they have one waiter who can get a bit moody which is a bit off putting...but don't let that put you off as it's a great little place.

Review of Barda

30 Apr 08, 13:28

good for a business meeting 3*

This is a very pricey restaurant considering it's location, which isn't all that glamourous tucked behind the train station.. However, once you're inside it's a great fine dining experience, and the food is delicious. They do a lunch special which makes it good for a business meeting during the day.

Review of Bali Brasserie

a winning combination 3*

What a winning combination: on a Sunday evening you can eat a delish curry, accompanied by watching Brighton's finest Kareoke Kings and Queens belting out some of the finest pop records ever. It's got a carpeted bar so you can prop yourself up after one Tiger beer too many in comfort.

Review of Gourmet Burger Kitchen

Burger towers r us 4*

You have never, ever seen a burger this high, or this stacked in your entire life. The portions are HUGE. Be warned, enter here only if you're seriously hungry. Which let's face it, I always am. The Jamaican is absolutely lish. Their fantastic light wall changes colours as you dine and enjoy the tastiest burger you're ever likely to eat.

Review of Las Iguanas

Arriibbbaaaaaa 4*

This is surprisingly good food considering it's generally packed out with large groups dining as a secondary objective to getting absolutely hammered. Of course I've never been one of those people. However, it's really, really tasty and unusual menu delivers really well for large groups considering the amount of covers they go through. It's probably quite good to go on a blind date in there too as it's quite dark. Or if you want to go to dinner with someone you don't want to be seen with of course.

Review of Karims

Even when you're drunk it doesn't taste good 1*

Even when you're drunk it doesn't taste good here at Karims. And that's just the service. The owner (who also runs the restaurant I think), makes you think he's doing you a favour by cooking for you. Our curry was runny, flavourless and served with no love. Stick with Ashoka on Church Road.
