Boss onion soup
This place has proper French cuisine. The onion soup was absolutely superb - the way they ought to be. Slightly pricey but an excellent french meal in a decorated restaurant.

Shagbag.
This Indian restaurant just down Hampstead high street with blacked out windows and an easily mockable name surprised me. The food is very good and in nice-sized portions and the waiters (although grumpy) tend to get the meals from kitchen to your table quickly. Worth checking out.

Review of Cybercandy

We love candy.
This shop stocks confectionery, drinks and cereals from all over the globe and puts it all in one place. Japanese rarities, American candy and even old British classics that haven't been seen for years can all be bought here. Great fun.

Review of Hamleys Of London

Epic toy shop
This toy shop has everything every child (or adult) could ever want. The staff seem as playful as the customers and are always showing off the newest toys in stock. Decorated amazingly throughout the year (even more so during holiday seasons) and often with attractions themed around toy crazes or films, Hamleys is a magnificent experience for anyone who walks inside the famous doors.

Indian take-away
From the hottest of the hot to the mildest of the mild, Kiplings does justice to both and is a good choice for an Indian take-away.

Arsenal players
This restaurant serves good food but is more famous for Arsenal players eating there. This was more frequent when Pires, Vieira and Henry both played for the club. Nowadays Freddie Ljungberg and Gilberto can often be spotted in there. If you want to see some of your football heroes then this is a good bet.

Baguettes
At first business was very slow but soon a few Highgate School boys started buying lunches from there. This sparked a mass exodus of Highgate boys to this shop and left Raj's cornershop (the shop of choice before) emptier than usual. The chicken-mayo baguettes are delicious and a bargain at only £2.30 considering how big they are. They also do a huge range of delicatessen style snacks and also sell tea and jams.

Shane's bar
While it may be owned by Shane McGowan and visited by Pete Doherty, the bar isn't all its been cracked up to be. It is a very small place and unless you know in advance that there is a gig that night then don't bother trying to get in. Coldplay and Babyshambles play quite often but it is strictly guestlist.

Review of Capri Ristorante Pizzeria

A slice of Italia
Fantastic pizza restaurant on the grimy Archway Road. One of the area's best kept secrets. The dishes are all cooked by Italians who know the secrets of their country's cuisine: the taste is proof of that. Great pizzas and salads.

Predictable
A decent oriental restaurant with a chic interior. The coupling of the slick black table tops with the moody pink lights make for an aesthetically pleasing sight. The food is good but it does take a while to arrive and the prices are too steep.
