Boss onion soup
This place has proper French cuisine. The onion soup was absolutely superb - the way they ought to be. Slightly pricey but an excellent french meal in a decorated restaurant.

Shagbag.
This Indian restaurant just down Hampstead high street with blacked out windows and an easily mockable name surprised me. The food is very good and in nice-sized portions and the waiters (although grumpy) tend to get the meals from kitchen to your table quickly. Worth checking out.

Review of Cybercandy

We love candy.
This shop stocks confectionery, drinks and cereals from all over the globe and puts it all in one place. Japanese rarities, American candy and even old British classics that haven't been seen for years can all be bought here. Great fun.

Baguettes
At first business was very slow but soon a few Highgate School boys started buying lunches from there. This sparked a mass exodus of Highgate boys to this shop and left Raj's cornershop (the shop of choice before) emptier than usual. The chicken-mayo baguettes are delicious and a bargain at only £2.30 considering how big they are. They also do a huge range of delicatessen style snacks and also sell tea and jams.

Expensive but necessary
I was in need of several intrinsic bits and pieces for this summer's festival period. I walked in expecting to be quoted for a decent tent but walked out with: camping cutlery, an arctic-warmth sleeping bag, a valuables belt and a tiny stove. The staff are knowledgeable and make you realise what else you need. I will be going back to get my tent at a later date.

Review of Les Aldrich Music Shop

Sheet music galore
This shop is almost entirely classical-based but is always stocked with musical equipment, sheet music for every instrument and is always able to order anything that isn't on offer at the time. This shop must have thrived during my saxophone playing days due to the frequency of reed-buying.

Review of The Woodman

Good for Champions League nights
Nice pub who will allow most people in provided they don't make any trouble. Pool tables and a big screen (as well as 3 other tvs) make this a good place to hang out with friends. On Champions League nights it is also fantastic: I have seen 4 or 5 Arsenal matches in there alongside other Gooners and the atmosphere doesn't quite match the stadia but is a decent venue to support your team in Europe.

Everything M&S
Huge shop with everything M&S make. They pump out the most incredible smells to entice passers-by (a sort of hybrid between chocolate and freshly baked bread) and this definitely works. The ready-meals can be eaten at any meal time and never disappoint.

Yums
These donuts were so popular in America that they further encouraged the craze that is obesity. Glazed donuts or a large variety of outrageous fillings make these donuts addictive and i can't think of anyone who doesn't like them.

Milkshakes
Quite simple the best milkshakes in town. A variety of flavours (including Oreo, Peanut butter etc.) and in huge portions. The burgers and side dishes are also very good - a very American meal.

Up and coming bands
The Strokes, Razorlight and The Libertines all played at this tiny Camden venue before the release of their debut albums. A comfy venue for those interested in seeing the 'next big things' before they become the next big things.

Review of Rokit

Viiiintage
I have been scowering the streets of London in search of good vintage clothing and stumbled across Rokit the other day.The clothing available has evidently been discarded by the pickiest ex-owners in the world and is very cheap. Jeans, army jackets, cowboy boots, belts and hats make this vintage shop as good as they get...the in-store music is also very good (red hot chili peppers etc.) and complements the shopping experience.

Review of Fine Burger Co

Tasty food, not such tasty seating
The burgers and side dishes will have you fit to burst which is unfortunate due to the strange Dali-esque seating on offer. While consuming a hefty American meal your back will crane under the pressure of the seats which render you not dissimilar to a hermit crab.

Review of Fopp

Big glass house
The shop itself seemingly appeared overnight, looking out over Camden Lock, replacing the skate shop that used to be there. The products are mostly grouped by price and you will be surprised by how cheap some of the things actually are. Sometimes quite famous bands play small sets in-store and do signings afterwards (they will sign ANYTHING).
