Review of Hamleys Of London

Epic toy shop
This toy shop has everything every child (or adult) could ever want. The staff seem as playful as the customers and are always showing off the newest toys in stock. Decorated amazingly throughout the year (even more so during holiday seasons) and often with attractions themed around toy crazes or films, Hamleys is a magnificent experience for anyone who walks inside the famous doors.

A slice of Italia
Fantastic pizza restaurant on the grimy Archway Road. One of the area's best kept secrets. The dishes are all cooked by Italians who know the secrets of their country's cuisine: the taste is proof of that. Great pizzas and salads.

Chish and Fips
Badly Drawn Boy recently played a gig (the venue's first and probably last) in honour of the place. Voted fish & chip shop of the year consistently for decades and this award is definitely deserved: eat-in or take-away, either way you get the great food you expect.

Guitars and music equipment
The most friendly, helpful new-music shop in London. A vast array of beautiful (and painfully expensive) guitars (upstairs) and editing and recording software (downstairs). Everything in the shop is usable upon visit - all you need to do is ask. You can spend whole days sampling the drum machines or strumming on 12-string epic guitars. Warning: you might lose track of time (and possibly lots of money).

Review of Dunns Bakery

Great bakery
This would always be a great treat when my parents brought me here when I was younger because I could feast on "Bun-men" which are little glazed sweet cakes in the shape of people with raisin eyes. The bread is delicious and freshly baked on-site and there are several options for customized cakes for any occasion.

Bangface raves
My friends encouraged me to come raving with them one night at Bangface (a monthly retro rave playing acid, jungle and drum n bass music). This did not appeal to me at all at first until I actually went to this hectic event from 10pm-6am. Fun masks and clothes are available to wear and the whole night is great fun - it gives all present something to look forward to for next month.

Delicious Japanese
This restaurant is hidden from view tucked in behind Golders Green. Lovely interior with proper Japanese art and a good sushi bar. Friendly (if a little hesitant with the english language) waitresses and outstanding food for fair prices.

A slice of Nawlins
This 'Nawlins' restaurant was absolutely superb. Excellent food, friendly waiters and even steak-eating contests: a full American experience in the most English place.

Free on the day of their daughter's wedding!
Ever wanted to get your hair cut by sports enthusiasts who seemingly pay as much attention to their clients as to the plasma screen on the back wall? Another reason for getting your hair cut here is wanting to meet the men who just didn't make the cut of the original cast of The Godfather. The banter and the thick Sicilian accents coupled with the talent and the enthusiasm of the staff make this barbershop in the heart of London a quality choice.
