Review of Poppy's

Amazing flowers 4*

I always use Poppies to buy flowers for presents.....mothers day, birthdays or just for special ocassions. They always have something that looks stunning and you get a lot for your money. They always get them ready in time for you and also deliver them if you are local. Parking is a bit rubbish if you go to collect yourself as it's on a very small side road off of the Sedgley Bull Ring.

Review of Radio Wulfrun

16 Apr 08, 18:05

A good start for everyone 3*

Radio Wulfrun is one of the best ways to gain experience at a radio station. It's based at New Cross Hospital, in the records building from when I was there, just at the back of maternity. Its voluntary and you have to walk the wards first before you're let loose on the studios. You can either become a presenter or a ward walker, if you like to chat to the patients. There are also other roles you an apply for like fundraising or engineer. It's an older database of music from the 40's to the present day but expect to play all of the old classics.

It can get a bit lonely if your on your own most of the time as the studios are away from anyone else and you could go weeks presenting without seeing anyone.

Review of Newbridge

Really cool quiz nights.... 3*

This place has a really cool quiz night. You get asked the questions by a guy who sounds just like Terry Wogan. The drinks are good, great selection. It's a carvery, which is good if you like carvery but they don't serve anything else. It's got quite an old decor inside but plenty of parking and seating outside.

Review of Newbridge Fish & Chips

Service is slow.... 2*

The only reason I go here is it's convenient for lunch as it's close to where I work. The food is good, not the best selection in the world. The service is really slow and it does get really busy especially with the school kids.

The staff could do with smiling a bit more.

Review of Oceana

16 Apr 08, 17:33

Something for everyone... 4*

This place has a room with music for everyone. Drink prices are reasonable. I got in for free last time so I don't know how much the entry fee is. It's also popular with the local people. Security has improved since it became Oceana, when it was Atlantis you ran the risk of being in a fight. It's in a really great spot for public transport. It's right next to the tram stop which takes you through to Birmingham.

It also has an under 18s night in the week which is good for the kids.

Review of Grand Theatre

A brilliant little theatre 4*

This is an amazing theatre. It has some really great shows on offer and has recently undergone a very large makeover. It has a good selection of refreshments including a bar. The seats are a little tight towards the top but it adds to the atmosphere.

A really great night out.

Review of Novotel

Not a nice place to stay 1*

This is really not a great hotel to stay in. The rooms aren't very clean, I found something nasty in the kettle which was left in the room. The safety locks on the windows had been removed so I could have fallen out the window. Food trays were left out in the corridors.

The staff weren't friendly or helpful at all.

I wrote a letter of complaint and never received a reply.

Review of Dog & Gun

Recently refurbished.... 4*

This place has recently been refurbished with new tables and seating and it looks amazing. It has a good selection of drinks and it's food is amazing. Really good quality food and it's staff are excellent. It has a medium sized car park and plenty of outside seating overlooking the fields across the road.

Really good atmosphere and a great place to go to.

They could do with some more modern toilets though that refill quicker.

Review of Barclays Bank

16 Apr 08, 17:05

They needs seats! 1*

This is a very busy bank right in the heart of Sedgley Village. There is always a que outside even before it opens.

When it's busy, it gets really busy and you can be waiting for ages to get served. They never have enough staff on and don't seem helpful at all.

They really need seats for you to use as you can wait forever.

Review of Tasty Plaice

16 Apr 08, 17:02

This plaice is the best! 4*

This has got to be one of the best fish and chip shops around. It always has what you want including burgers, pizzas and chicken pieces.

There is always plenty of staff to serve and they are very quick. They have some amazing gravy too!

It also has it's own private car park right next door which is handy.

I always go here.
