Review of London Pride Public House
29 May 08, 19:05
London Pride
London Pride is quite an old and traditional looking pub inside and out. Its ok for a quick beer, but maybe not the place to have a long evening over a meal. Saying that the lunchtime food is always good.

Royal Oak isnt as down and dirty as it used to be, but still attracts a good local, the beer and ales here are good and its not as expensive as town prices.

Review of Red House

Newport Redhouse
There are some ok pubs in Newport, and if you live near the Redhouse then its a good local to have. If you take the sneaky route off the M1 its a good place to stop for a drink.

Review of Green Man

Green Man
The Green Man has always been a place for young kids, its one of the first places we used to come when i was a teenager. Its not a pub you'd bring your missus to and needs a new lick of paint.

Review of Ship Ashore

Ship Ashore
A good place to stop and have a drink if you are cycling round Mk and using the redways. Its an old pub and is very much a local haunt with workers from close by business nipping in for lunch time drinks.

Review of Kings Arms
29 May 08, 18:59
Kings Arms
A traditional looking pub with drink stained carpets and old paint, but good service and it gets well popular in summer outside with people laying on the grass and enjoying a drink.

Review of The Cricketers
29 May 08, 18:56
Cricketers
The Cricketers has a few stories to tell, its been here a while and is a locals pub. Its a bit rough and dirty with sticky carpets. The girls behind the bar pull a decent pint and its not bad for a lunch time drink.

Cuba Hotel
Cuba Hotel has changed owners and is alot better than it ever used to be. They are putting everything into this place, with nice food on offer and big screens for the sports fans.

Review of The Grebe
29 May 08, 18:54
Grebe
Grebe is a local pub that pulls in local folk. Its not a bad pub that doesnt really offer anything special other than a handy drink if you are on the door step here in Great Holm.

Review of Eager Poet

Want a punch up
This place used to have a reputation for fighting, if you wanted a punch come, come here. Thats calmed down a bit but the pub is still rough and the food is very basic and if you are going to eat anything, stick to rolls and sandwiches.

Review of The Fountain Harvester
29 May 08, 18:45
Fountain Harvester
Nice looking pub with low ceilings as you go in, a real traditional and local feel to this pub, with some tables outside to enjoy it when the summers here. The menu is standard and quite cheap and you can see the kitchens cooking your burgers or steaks on the impressive grill.

Review of Old Beams
29 May 08, 18:40
Beams
If you dont live here in Shenley then its a difficult pub to find hidden in amongst the houses, but its a large pub and restaurant, with a nice garden outside. The food is well priced and really good. A very civilized place to come.

Review of Black Horse
29 May 08, 18:31
Another great Woburn Restaurant
The Black Horse is yet another example of great places to eat in Woburn. You can just come for a drink but the food is really good so i would suggest booking a table. The lamb comes highly recommended.

Review of The Cannon
29 May 08, 18:27
Traditional Pub
This is a proper pub, with live mic nights, karaoke and a function room for hire at back. Its still got carpet and hasnt caved in to the new fancy modern look that most pubs are doing now. Its got a real local feel to it.

Review of Carrington Arms

Best meat
Ive had some of the best steaks in here, its great to be able to choose your own meat in here with kangeroo and crocodile making an appearance on the menu. Great tasting food with laid back pub interior and plenty of parking, not your pub food prices though.

Barge Inn
This is a really nice local pub that attracts outsiders because of its garden and relaxed feel. They do really nice BBqs in the summer and theres plenty of tables, if you can get one sit in the conservatory bit out the back. Nice reasonable meals price wise too.

Review of Ye Olde Swan
29 May 08, 18:17
What a pub should be
I think this is what a pub should be, it still has some character with its old beams and traditional insides, and theres a great new outside eating area with good tables and chairs. Gets really busy when its sunny and is really popular.
