Would expect much better 
During my membership the steam room has constantly broken down. A certain male staff member has been incredibly rude trying to rush me out of the door at the end of the day (on more that one occasion) while I have been trying to get dressed to leave (and at least 10 mins before the official closing time.) I have a sneaky suspicion that the clock in the male chaging room is set 5 mins fast for this very reason. Also if you swim early in the mornings, sometimes various hoses are placed into the pool (presumably for cleaning) and then placed through a door to the outside. While in summer this is not a problem it certainly is on cold winter mornings as the open door lets balsts of artic cold icy air into the pool area. The pool maintenance should be undertaken outside of hours open to the public

I was taken by a Chinese friend of mine (a very discerning individual who lives in Hong Kong and who owns a luxury hotel and a number of restaurants.) This is apparently where they always eat when they stay in London. I think that the fact that a Chinese hotelier/restranteur brings guests here says it all!

When not so full is a good pub 
Since the refurbishment a few years ago (it used to be a pub that literally had a customer of one man and a dog) it has been stylishly decorated and the food is far better than average, There is also a half decent room upstairs that a friend once hired. If you can bag any of the comy seats and sofas it is a very pleasant place to while away a few hours. I would have given it a higher rating but its success has meant that it can become extremely crowded.

Dirty cuffs 
I have had my shirts cleaned here on a number of occasions and the cuffs were returned still slightly dirty.
Also experienced difficulty paying as their credit card machine did not work. They refused to accept payment in cash of £20 (I only had a £20 note on me) as the cost should have been a couple of pounds more. I would have hoped that they would have forgotten the extra pound or so as their credit card reader was not working

Buy your lunch from the deli
The deli serves the best food that you can take away with you for a special lunch time treat if you work in a office nearby with a microwave.

Excellent solicitor in London W1 
Andrew Veitch has dealt with a few property matters on my behalf (conveyancing, landlord & tenant, leases and a dispute with my neighbour.) I have always found him to be extremely efficient and effective. The difference compared to other solicitors I have dealt with in the past is that he is willing to take the time to explain everything to you (and in terms you can understand) and is very friendly. He also gives a free initial consultation on each matter - which has saved me money when on his advice I have decided not to proceed
