Review of Yatess Wine Lodge

No thanks 1*

There are so many nice places to go around the West End…so why go to Yates. Well if you want a cheapy lunch and can’t be bothered to go too far then its ok. The food isnt great, but they do replace it when you complain (last time I went my food was not cooked…hmmm!). Its also a bit dark and gloomy!

If you want to go somewhere that is a magnet for stag parties, groups of men visiting the Big Smoke or tourists then this is the pub to go to!

Not for me though thanks!

Review of The Brighton Bead Shop

29 May 08, 14:24

Beadin' good! 3*

If you are already a fan of making things out of beads, or fancy trying out your creativity side or perhaps even a present then this is the perfect shop!

What can I say, it is full of beads to make things with!

I am always tempted to buy one of each..clearly wouldn't look great but its all so so pretty!!

Although for me its something I buy and then do nothing with!

Review of Brighton Pier Rock Shop

29 May 08, 14:21

Rock'kin! 5*

A great British tradition...if you are an out of towner or have mates down to visit then a stick of rock is a must!

It reminds me of when i was a little'un and used to bring rock back from holiday for friends.

There are all sorts and shapes and some even have your name written in!

Lots of fun!

Review of Custard Card Shop

29 May 08, 14:19

Good cardage! 5*

A good card shop is hard to find these days as often all you can find is chains with the same old boring stuff.

If you are so over that then give this shop a try!

It is packed full of random funky cards, its different and people you give them to will love them!

Just have a wander in the Lanes and you cant miss it!

Review of Jamies Pasty Shop

Tummy Fillers! 5*

A great cornish tradition of pasties...kind of a give away in the name 'cornish pasty'!

Its a meal in pastry hot and fresh and filling.

Much better than anywhere else in the world.

Review of Gap

29 May 08, 14:10

Tiny! 1*

I quite agree with Callum G!

What an accurate review....it is small..it is true that good things come in small packages, but this really does not apply to shops!

It should have lots of clothes in all the sizes and rotate the stock often.

If that doesnt happen then I'm just not interested!

Review of Chatterton Arms

Good Pub! 5*

This is a great little pub!

The building is cute and the pub has lots of character! It’s a nice little watering hole…there is a bar and drink and atmosphere….what more could you want from a pub!

Oh and my childhood pet dog was named after this pub…so that fact in itself means it’s a good place to visit!

Review of O'Neill's

28 May 08, 14:18

Fun Fun! 3*

I have found that most O'Neils are pretty similar, wooden floors, sports on the TVs and DJs on the weekend.

I used to love this O’Neils and often came on a Friday or Saturday night. It was however too busy and with only a couple of loos for the whole massive pubs it got a bit annoying. Then the smoking ban came in and turns out the place stinks! So that was the end of that!

Last time I went it was exactly the same as it was years ago, and full of youg’uns…so think I will give it a miss!

Review of The Partridge

Good Ole Pub! 5*

This used to be a bank and you can tell by the décor, it’s a gorgeous building with high ceilings and a nice outside patio area.

For me it’s the perfect place to stop for a drink or bite to eat when out shopping. They show the sports, so if that’s your thing and you want a quieter atmosphere then this is the pub for you.

It is very calm and the clientele is a lot older than other pubs in Bromley.

Review of George Panphilon The Public House

28 May 08, 14:12

It used to be the place to go... 4*

......then it shut down!

May it rest in peace!

It was the place to go a good few years ago, always busy, good music and if like me you were at 6 form (at the time) in the area no doubt you would see everyone you knew!

If you didn't go then you missed out on something special!
