Review of Chapter Arts Centre

a pub and then some!
Chapter in Canton has it all as far as I am concerned. The bar offers a selection of wines as well as a great selection of guest ales and lagers. It is relaxed and has a warm and friendly atmosphere as well as being child friendly. It has a paved garden area where you can enjoy a drink when it's warm or have a quiet cigarette. There is a great licensed cafe too serving either light bites or a lunchtime/ evening menu offering great meat/vegetarian meals using local produce. It is home to a cinema, gallery, shop and is a regular music venue. This is a one stop shop for beer, art and entertainment but first and foremost it is a safe and welcoming bar where you are always guaranteed to meet a crazy mix of people from Wales and beyond. It certainly ticks all my boxes!.

Review of The Ichiban Sushi & Noodle Bar Japanese Restaurant

sushi to go!
It's not always possible to go out to eat in your favourite restaurant when you have kids so how fantastic when your favourite restaurant does takeway! Ichiban on cowbridge road serves great Japanese food and there is no difference to the quality and flavour they produce for their takeaways. The sushi is light and full of flavour, chicken ramen soup is heavenly, the vegetable or king prawn tempura is so moreish and the rainbow maki or mackarel leaves you salivating. Even a side dish of simple endame beans (soya beans) is beautifully salty and flavoursome. If I can serve up Ichiban Japanese food at home, nights in may not be so bad after all!!

Review of Museum Of Welsh Life

St Fagans Museum of Welsh Life
There are very few places these days where you can go with kids for a whole day and do it for free! The Museum of Welsh Life at St Fagans is a great day out for all the family. The grounds of St Fagans are now home to many traditional buildings that have been salvaged from across Wales. Chapels, farmhouses, cottages have been rebuilt for everyone to look around and get a feel for how people lived years ago. There is also an old train and a row of shops including a grocer shop where you can buy some nostalgic sweet treats. The grounds and gardens are extensive and perfect for letting the kids run and play and there is also a great enclosed playground. There are no shortages of outdoor picnic tables to enjoy your packed lunch and you can also enjoy a horse and cart ride. This is a really great day out combining a slice of welsh history with the outdoors! Fantastic!
